Johnson latest bluster

- 6 months ago supply and demand would have stabilised
- then Putin started the war
- no reference to inflationary pressures which were happening before the war
- the speech references Ukraine, Putin, the Queen frequently to confuse search engines later
- over time economic pressure of Ukraine will lessen
- not using uncontrolled immigration to sort workforce
- getting people off benefit in to work
- repeated all measures so far (£37billion)
- back Britain (search engine red herring)
- mentions fiscal responsibility (austerity coming)
- last year largest growing economy in G7 (because we dropped furthest)
- no Government can protect everyone from all pressures (?nothing more coming)
- you can't spend your way out of it (more austerity)

@chrisriddell50 My first thought when I saw this today was whether your colleague @MartinRowson might regard these events as, 'a storm in a fur cup'!

...evidently, there are agendas but, some are too quick to impose their interpretation on events - they hear but don't LISTEN! Image
"In the last few weeks, the benefits to Russia from its sabre-rattling must have far exceeded the Kremlin’s expectations. It has produced a traffic jam of presidents, prime minister and ministers making their way to Moscow."
"They may be issuing warnings against a Russian invasion of Ukraine, but the reality is that for the first time since 1991 Russia is once again being treated as a superpower to be feared, cultivated and never disregarded."

@Haggis_UK As always...#LiarJohnson muddies water with obfuscation and evasion...aimed to confuse/brainwash members of the public including MPs of ALL parties - political, if any clarification is needed!

#OfficeGSBrown "this a moral issue" is root of the crisis at heart of UK Government!
@Haggis_UK With all due respect, does @CrispinBlunt seek to trivialise and deflect attention from the central rot at heart of UK Government under direction of #LiarJohnson?
@Haggis_UK @CrispinBlunt Investigations into breaches of covid regulations, resulting from #LiarJohnson's absence of moral leadership are complex insofar as they involve different regulations in place at time of each transgression; carrying different penalties.

Some may incur financial penalties only.

The underlying sinophobia - even among progressive, educated Brits - is galling. The same people tweeting hashtags like #NotMyPM, demanding nuance and exemption from the UK's behaviour internationally, will habitually say things like "I wouldn't believe anything the Chinese say".
I report what I hear from a doctor friend over there and people react as if I'm amplifying Xi Jinping. The underlying notion being, it's impossible for a country with an aggressively muscular state and extensive experience of epidemics to get things right - they must be lying.
Also, contradictory orientalist tropes of sneakiness AND obedience. 'The Chinese' do as they're told (cf. Johnson's 'freedom-loving' Brits) and simultaneously all lie to any Westerner, to make their country look better than it is. All 1.4 billion of them do this, apparently. OOF.

Wow. @BorisJohnson in today’s #PMQs called @Keir_Starmer ‘s question about why Johnson sat on the #RussiaReport for so long, when it stated Russia was such an immediate threat, ‘absurd’.

Absurd.

#NotMyPM
Mike drop: when @BorisJohnson tries to avoid answering #RussiaReport questioning by saying @Keir_Starmer ’sat on his hands’ re Russia, Starmers replies that he was one of those involved in ‘prosecuting’ Russia in the #Litvinenko case.
“I spent 5yrs as Director of Public Prosecutions” says @Keir_Starmer (after @BorisJohnson suggests Starmer could have done more -in opposition-re Russia) “working on live operations with security services, so I’m not going to take lectures from this PM about national security’

PM kau orang (#NotMyPM) umum Mak Cik Kiah dapat duit RM4,464 tapi bila Mak Cik Kiah balik rumah, dia buat kira-kira, sebenarnya dia cuma dapat RM864 sahaja.

Kenapa?

Ini adalah Thread
1.Pertama, kerajaan tak keluarkan RM250B. Jumlah sebenar kerajaan belanjakan tak sampai pun 10%, iaitu hanya RM22bil sahaja. Selebihnya duit rakyat sendiri seperti:
a.Tangguh bayar bank (RM100b – duit rakyat)

Scott Morrison appeals to "patriotism" of big business. The "business sector" does not do patriotism; it does profit and loss. 15 of 20 top companies here are majority US owned. Where does that shareholder loyalty lie? With the stars and stripes? Not the Coalition?
He calls on “Team Australia” to keep on full-time, part-time and casual workers through "the crisis." Wait, wasn't Tony Onion the last Captain of Team Australia? If #notmyPM is recycling Abbott-era slogans, we're in real trouble. (Pic: #memestream 2014)
“Whenever possible, support [workers.] Full-time, part-time, casual...with paid leave if they need to take time off during the course of the virus." #notmyPM advocates "radical" Labor and union-style IR reforms. Is he feverish?

Things the media won't ask Morrison.
1: Why did your govt pay a Cayman Island entity set up by Taylor $80 million for imaginary water?
2: Why haven't you released the Parkinson report into the Sussan Ley scandal?
3: Why do all the police treat the coalition differently?

#auspol
4: Why were the Campion jobs swept under the carpet? Defrauding the Commonwealth is a crime.
5: How do you explain 2,030 deaths attributed to #robodebt recipients?
6: How can you pass laws ignoring fundamental tenets of our judicial system? The presumption of innocence.

7: If we are doing what we can about climate change why are we running last? Ranked 61 of 61.
8: If you are great economic managers why do we have record fed govt debt? Up to $350 billion from Sept 2013.
9: Why is Angus Taylor still a govt minister?

.@toryboypierce just declared on his @LBC show that busineses, not civil servants, are the only ones with real experience negotiating trade deals. Nope Andrew: business lobbies governments, govt 'civil servants' do the negotiating
We're leaving in 1 month, media: read up on it
@toryboypierce @LBC One @LBC caller, Simon (.@toryboypierce agreeing) just said we all need to buy 'the power of positive thinking' for Christmas to change how we see Brexit.
Given how little our govt & media seem to know about EU & global trade, I'd recommend this instead amazon.co.uk/Trade-Policy-E…
@toryboypierce @LBC .@LBC now debating whether or not Big Ben will 'chime' on 'Brexit Day'.
I go to France for one week and come back to this.

I feel like I’ve come out of a civil war on the losing side with the victors gloating and vindictive.🤢
That’s what they want - for us to melt away in misery.
Well the fight is only just beginning to #GetOurCountryBack
#WeAreThe54Percent who voted for a #Remain party in 2019! 1/5
We just need to repair our wounds & turn ourselves into a slick & better organised group of protest. This is much bigger than Brexit. We let right wing populism & nationalism take over our country (or rather the conned Tory voters did) but we won’t rest until we have it back! 2/5
This is the deal👉
We form the #WeAreThe54Percent group still fighting Brexit (even once it’s on its way - for we know it will never be “done”), fighting for electoral reform, saving our democracy & our NHS & our green policies and stamping out racism!
Do you want to join? 3/5

A reminder - setting deadlines in legislation that can't move when you don't have a plan.
(After the WA)

#Gove #NotMyPM #unequalsgovernment #fbpe

Everyone, including the PMs aide ⏬, Farage, etc. that Article 50 without a plan is what caused the mess.

More reminders.
No one in the Government, and no MP in the Tory party has negotiatiated a Trade Agreement.

Ever.

Nor have our Civil Servants

Amazing confidence for one of the most complicated trade deals ever to need to be completed.

I thought humility was the boris word?
Our deadline is self imposed and has therefore an inbuilt assumption that the EU share our priorities.

In fact #BorisJohnson even has the gall to say it will help.

Big flaw, the EU have some far more interesting deals to do. GoldieOldie from steve⏬

@AndrewScheer, this is so disrespectful to all those that fought for our freedom. You may disagree, but you uphold & honour the decisions of the government. I'm appalled to see a potential Prime Minister acting so disgracefully as an MP in the HoC. #canpoli

Much Twitter disappointment with @Peston fawning on #NotMyPM #Johnson. We must write him off until fall of J. They have Siamese tendencies: Balliol, Brussels, @spectator, @Telegraph. He’ll get 1st dibs on a few propaganda titbits, but u can forget objective reporting. @itvnews 1/
Remarkable how little known r these connections between #Peston & #Johnson. But it explains why Peston goes weak at the knees & offers his tummy when #Johnson winks at him. I’m sure @Peston wakes up determined 2b objective, but that resolve doesn’t make it 2 his first espresso.2/

A short thread on the Irish Backstop that you might like to raise with your MP.

In our neck of the woods, that would be @DLidington, @VictoriaPrentis, @JHowellUK or John Bercow
1/8
Johnson has said that he wants the backstop removed from the Withdrawal Agreement, to be replaced by "Alternative Arrangements" to be agreed & implemented as part of the negotiations on our future relationship, & implemented during the transition period or shortly after.
2/8
If the future relationship is along the lines of Norway+, favoured by some Brexiters, the UK would remain in the SM & CU, so the backstop would never be triggered, & would therefore not be an issue.

How wonderful it would be if tomorrow, we could wake up to the news that three or four Conservative MPs have walked out.

#NotMyPM revokes article 50 and admits publicly that the Referendum was Advisory and Article 50 should not have been triggered. /2
#NotMyPM is ousted, along with #NotMyOpposition and a unity Govt is formed, with intelligent people taking on key roles, regardless of their political view BUT because they have the necessary skill set to take us out of this mess. /3
The £ can rally.
Medical supplies continue.
FOM continues.
The EU continues to fund major improvements in the UK.
Etc etc etc
@metpoliceuk or whichever org has the necessary powers, investigates fully, all wrong doings from the last three year period with a definite ‘so what’ /4
