1/16 A concluding π§΅on #NoToRussianLaw protests against the Russian-inspired law in Georgia. A big win for Georgian society, but the ruling Georgian Dream party has not suffered a strategic defeat yet: 
2/16 Background: the Georgian Dream (GD) party created a spin-off group People's Power in August 2022 in order to openly and actively push anti-Western sentiments and π·πΊ friendly discourse in π¬πͺ. Over the months, the group lambasted the U.S. Embassy in π¬πͺ and Ambassador Degnan.
3/16 The group of MPs has remained in the parliamentary majority and continued to be full-fledged members of the ruling party. To increase the reach of their disinformation campaigns, one of the members of People's Power MP Viktor Japaridze acquired the POSTV channel.

Protesters break through the additional metal barriers set up at the back entrance of the #parliament . #Police remain inside the gates.
Riot #police is seen assembling, possibly moving towards the protesters in front of the #parliament. The numbers of protesters have thinned after tear gas was deployed alongside water cannons, causing severe eye irritation. Many reportedly required medical assistance.

The legislative process has three readings. The first vote equals acceptance of the draft in its principle; further readings adapt the particular details and wording. The Speaker said the passed draft will be forwarded to the .@VeniceComm w its comments informing 2nd/3rd readings
There is tension between police and citizens near the parliament. The police do not allow protes to approach the parliament's entrance. Special Law enforcements are also mobilized.
