I would focus on Charge Nurses, Directors of Nursing with Families, who need jobs and would consent to such violations of containment of infection. Dedicated Staff. No mixing of air, meals or walkways. Giving Tip caller immunity would level the playing field. To AC, it’s a ⚽️
I would write a letter to The Licensing Entity and copy each owner of facilities agreeing to engage in unsafe transfers and cohorting infected patients with vulnerable elders in Facilities. The Highest Protected Class.

The Disregard of #InformedConsent and Echoes of Nuremberg Part 2 - “The Great Pivot” - Jab hesitancy is informed, literate, and sophisticated, but government agencies, officials, and politicos pushed false narratives - by @TraderStef 4 #CrushTheStreet #ADE crushthestreet.com/articles/break… Image
I am moving "The Great Pivot & Echoes of Nuremberg Part 2" #InformedConsent2 (the thread from @RWMaloneMD's gracious RT ) to my acct original here. Replies were breaking apart/not keeping continuity under his RT. Chronology is now intact. Apology for move. Image

@CDCgov 1) My Mom had #BeenSmokingCigarettes for 30 #Years when she had gotten #pneumonia 2x's during the Winter of 1989-1990. Her doctor told her if she didn't #QuitSMOKING , she would #VeryLikely get #pneumonia again. Then, he Highly recommended that she #GiveNicotinePatchesATry . She
@CDCgov 2) decided to try them; for #ThreeEntireMonths , as the amount of #Nicotine in the patches is reduced each month; even though they caused her to get a small amount of hives! 😃 By that time, she was down to #Smoking 1 or 2 #Cigarettes a day; instead of her usual #PackADay Habit!
@CDCgov 3) And, back then, packs had 30 #Cigarettes in them! BUT, she had to keep a #PenInHerMouth every day; & leave the #SmokingLunchroom at work, too. And, for some odd reason, she used #CinnamonCandies to help herself, too. So, she was #TryingVeryHard to quit; using psychological

1. In Nov 2016 my mom was diagnosed w/#Dementia w/#AuditoryHallucinations. As she left our house at 12AM & wandered around our neighborhood, we had to put her in a #NursingHome. She was a very limited #EnglishSpeaker & very few of her caregivers spoke #Portuguese. She wasn’t used

3. in the 3 yrs she was in the NH. In her stage of #Dementia she was still aware of time & if I didn’t show up on time, she would become upset. The voices in her mind might tell her that I wasn’t w/her bc I had been murdered by my imaginary stalker. This was just one of many.....

Meanwhile in #France,
"the peak of this second wave is over"

(according to the President in his Adress to the Nation):
Wait... "the peak is over" doesn´t mean "it´s back to normal"!

Confinement will only fall on December 15,
if there´s less than 5.000 new cases a day.
(today it´s ~9.000).

France is disappointed.🙁

Although they certainly can make it happen.
Meanwhile in #Switzerland:
(excess mortality of the second wave is significant)

Good news: fastest decrease in infections happens in the worst hit areas now.

‘103 #Covid19 deaths in October, 39 of them in nursing homes’

.. almost 40% of all recent deaths from #Covid19, & almost 1/2 of all deaths in Ireland since start of pandemic, are in #nursinghomes 1/ irishtimes.com/news/health/co…
about 30,000 people live in nursing homes... so just 0.5% of the population have suffered 50% of #Covid19 fatalities

HSE attribute this to ‘high rates of community transmission’, but... 2/ irishtimes.com/news/ireland/i…
..elderly people & people with health conditions who live ~outside~ nursing homes ‘in the community’ do not have these infection rates

... & Dublin #nursinghomes have not allowed visitors for more than 6 weeks now 3/

I wrote this about Trump's #nursinghome negligence at the end of July: thedailyedge.substack.com/p/trumps-nursi…

The Washington Post is now reporting there have been 7,000 additional nursing home deaths since the end of September. (1/3) #NursingHomeSlaughter #TrumpHatesSeniors
WaPo: Seema Verma, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services head, vowed in late March to “keep what happened in Kirkland from happening again.” Since then, "homes that received a clean bill of health earlier this year had about 290,000 coronavirus cases and 43,000 deaths" (2/3)
Since March, more than 70,000 nursing home residents have died, plus hundreds of staff members, making up about 30% of U.S. coronavirus deaths.

“This pandemic’s death toll at #nursinghomes was not an inevitability," says Dean Lerner. (3/3) washingtonpost.com/business/2020/… #COVID19

#CovidKim Outrage du jour. @KimReynoldsIA refused 2 fund cautionary testing at nursing homes. Instead, $450K was diverted from #CARESAct to pay #IaGov staffing already paid by #IaLegis, then she hid shift! She got greedy. Folks will die. #IaPolitics #IaGov iowalabornews.com/?p=28091&link_…

As #COVID19 cases are found to spread, #Melbourne (city of ~5 million) tries to contain them by going into #Lockdown.
(The interview features the idea of a dedicated #Quarantine building - that would actually help, I guess)...
"People acting as if the pandemic was over was 'not the answer, it is part of the problem' ".

"The virus had leaked from postcodes already under the stay-at-home orders to other parts of #Melbourne."
(and beyond, it is feared).
Due to #Melbourne's outbreak, neighbouring South Australia is about to completely close it's borders to #Victoria.

(Nearly) no exceptions. And those essential few who are allowed in, will have to wear facemasks the entire time...

Vorpommern-Greifswald district (where rejections of #Gütersloh residents took place, yesterday)
has specific rules:
"Those who return from international risk areas (out of Germany) or whose Corona-Warning App has alerted them, need to report to authorites"
kreis-vg.de Image
In fact, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Corona-ordinance really prohibits entry of people from international risk areas AND german risk areas as well.
It's just not prominently featured on their websites.

(Overlooked that myself, hence deleted earlier tweet)

People from #Gütersloh district may have to scrap all their holiday plans anyway...

An official #Lockdown is just being announced for the entire district.

Across the country, seniors’ lives are being upended as continuing care retirement communities take aggressive steps to protect residents from #COVID19, the illness caused by the novel #coronavirus.

These communities offer a spectrum of services ― independent living, #assistedliving and #nursinghome care — serving older adults with disparate needs, from the very healthy to the very ill. #KHNaging
Since mid-March, aided by guidance from @CDCgov, many places have instituted strict policies.

Thinking of taking your loved one out of #longtermcare during the #covid19 ? There is *no easy answer*. But here are few things to think about:
1) Do they need to be transferred (bed / toilet / shower) and how would you do that?
2) Do they need a Hoyer lift? (thread continues)
3) Do you have the medications and expertise to provide the medical care?
4) Are you in danger of infecting other vulnerable members of your household?
5) How will you support them if they have dementia?
6) Do you have knowledge on how to support #incontinence & the products?
7) Who will you call if they get sicker either with #Covid19 or their underlying #health issues?
8) are they going to lose their #placement in the #nursinghome (in Ontario - the answer would be yes)
9) who else in your home needs care?
10) how will you support #socialengagement?
