Today's congressional primary to watch is @candacefor24 v. @KimOlsonTx - a runoff in July to be the Dem nominee to flip a suburban Republican seat. /1
Olson, on the surface, looks like a DCCC-recruit cooked up in a lab: A conservative retired Air Force colonel who launched her campaign with a jingoistic banger of an ad that raised gobs of #resistance dollars. But there's a catch.
Olson, while serving in Iraq, was court-martialed for war profiteering. She pled guilty to lesser charges and left the military. In a general election, that just might be a bit of a liability. And so she does not have DCCC support. theintercept.com/2020/03/04/can…

I’ve signed the Humanity Forward Pledge, which calls for $2,000 per month to every American for the duration of this pandemic and $1,000 forever.
Before #Covid_19, I knew that UBI was an important safety net for people in my community. The United States has exercised a war on the poor for generations and without this basic income too many families in #NY15 and in the country will fall through the cracks.
I’ve signed this pledge because it will create positive change and could save families and lives in my district.

‼️PROGRESSIVES‼️

We must remember down-ballot candidates.

This is a list of progressive/leftist congressional candidates endorsed by at least one of these groups:

@BrandNew535
@BoldProgressive
@justicedems
@pdamerica
@RoseCaucus

#UniteLeft
#Progress2020
Please remember:

⚠️STATE CANDIDATE PRIMARIES MAY BE ON DIFFERENT DATES THAN THE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY⚠️

Double check your registration at least 1 MONTH 🗓 before any election you plant to vote in.

Also, endorsements are an ongoing process
Some races have 2 different candidates endorsed by different groups, so they’re both listed.

A thread on @WholeFoods and elections: @Redistrict recently wrote that Dems will perform the best in areas that are geographically close to Whole Foods (WF). I decided to map/calculate the # of Whole Foods by congressional district to test his theory on WF and elections (1/9)
So first, the basics. There are 470 WF across the U.S., and 233/435 CD's have at least 1 WF in them. WF districts did tend to prefer Clinton over Trump, as they had an average 2016 pres. margin of +13 Clinton, while non-WF districts preferred Donald Trump by +8 points. (2/9)
@RepTedLieu’s #CA33, has the highest number of WF (dare I say it’s a Whole Foods gerrymander?!), with 10 WF. The Boston metro also has a large number of WF, with #MA05, and #MA07 (@AyannaPressley's new district) each having 7 (3/9)
