I'm really tired of seeing this take.

A once-in-generation 2-week protest movement whose premise fortuitously motivated universal support, is completely different to building a political structure that ensures you have party agents in Abonema and Tundun-Wada on election day.
They have absolutely nothing in common. It's like comparing a 20-ft rope with a 20-ft snake. The form is vaguely similar, but the operational realities are worlds apart.

In terms of numbers, @SavvyRinu's total social media audience is only like 40% of Alimosho LGA alone.
N500m is a drop in the bucket. Except you're using it to campaign for HoA seats, and even then there are no guarantees.

I know a diasporan from Rivers State who came back to contest for a senatorial seat in 2019, and spent her own N100m.

She didn't get past the primaries.

Just know that a long time ago, I too was on that "Exterminate capitalism" train. I was part of a global Black Socialist society called Field Afrikan Refuge.

I fell out with my friend @AztecccZ during #OccupyNigeria because I insisted that fuel subsidies must remain.
On a module called "Power and Resistance in a Globalising World" at uni, I once submitted a polemic that was so stinging in its assessment of capitalism that my (left wing) lecturer rejected it for not meeting academic writing standards.

Where you are now, I was there too.
Whatever lifelong unbreakable conviction you think you have now, I had it too. In fact that was 60% of the reason I came back to Nigeria filled with patriotic zeal to right colonialist and neo-colonialist wrongs.

Africa Rising, etc etc. It's not new.

On January 1st 2012 fuel subsidy was removed and for me it was the best News ever! Finally, the govt was doing something right!
My support for the removal of subsidy was the reason I never joined #OccupyNigeria protest. I saluted the Nigerians that did
#BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
I saluted the Nigerians that did, because for the first time, I saw Nigerians uniting and making demands like I have never seen before except during the 1993 elections
#BuhariFuelSubsidyScam
I watched aghast as citizens were attacked and killed by security agents across the Nation and finally the reduction and compromise reached by government and NLC and for me it was all heartbreaking.

TREN 11-23 FEB: NAIK, CENDERUNG LANDAI

Trennya naik, tapi belum eksponensial. Masih linear, dan cenderung landai. Mungkin nunggu versi Android dirilis, biar userbasenya naik.

Secara isu, sejak awal sudah mulai terlihat adanya potensi masalah. Contoh: penyebaran hoaks covid19.

This Noise of Visa Ban to politicians is an all time low from us as Nigerians. How on earth do you assume those guys are better than us? Even Atiku as a candidate was arranged to visit the place he had stayed away before.
It is a too low topic we are getting into. VISA ban?

Since we even want to make the political office unattractive for Jokes, Non performance and other things.

Why not
1. No travel for any elected officer and their families while in power and 6 years after?
Answer 1: You either make our Hospital best for you, your family and us or we die here together in the bad facilities.
You either make our education top notch or we and your children study in same. And their families must use public schools too. If they had been studying abroad

On this leadership matter, you will hear several well meaning "elders" in the next few days suggest that we elect from within ourselves the natural leaders that have emerged during this #EndSARS struggle
They mean well, but we must resist their calls for conventional leadership. This kind of leadership is the only style the older generations know, and for them, it is difficult to conceptualise a successfull movement without one. #EndSARS
But just as millenia ago it was unheard of for a country or a people to have no King and to be ruled by elected leaders, so also we are on the cusp of a new breed of leadership. #EndSARS

1. Opinion leaders in Nigeria like Wole Soyinka should be more nationalistic and objective when making comments on burning National Issues.
How can he compare a democratically elected govt with that of Abacha ? This was how he mislead Nigerians on RUGA.
