My sister who’s a flight attendant and was in Omaha for the night was arrested last night for going outside her hotel to see the protests. Police arrested 75-80 people over night who were within the protest area. When we attempt to pay her bail, “The system is down”
Even if we were able to pay, she wouldn’t get out for another 10-12 hours because they’re overbooked and still booking protestors from last night. #omahaprotests
We can’t talk to her, she can’t call, she doesn’t know what’s going on or that we’re even aware of her situation and trying to help.. Is this normal to have systems down in jail or is this a way to keep protestors locked up?
Another protest this evening at 72nd and Dodge, the site of last Friday’s protest. This time they’re on the Petco corner. 
One pair of protesters was mom Christy Allen, 54, right, and daughter Christina Allen, 29, left. They were smiling and laughing as people drove by one of Nebraska’s busiest intersections honking horns in support.
Christy Allen, left, said she’s hopeful because she sees so much support from people of every race for what protesters are trying to accomplish.
“What’s going on now is it’s time for people to come together as one,” she said. “It’s time for a change, and the change is here.”

Here is today’s schedule at Memorial Park, for those interested. I’m speaking with organizers on site.
One organizer of the Memorial protest today is @Westside66 rising junior Elise Smith, 16, pictured, middle. She says she wanted to organize a protest that addressed her parents’ safety concerns and offered a chance to peacefully talk about issues of inequality, loss and change.
