@RichardEngel @OARichardEngel @NBCNews 1) PKK/YPG, which Engel presents as “Kurds” is just a fraction w/ violent marxist-leninist ideology. They are basically commies representing only the 5% of the Syrian Kurds. Calling them “Kurds” is like claiming KKK is “Americans”.
@RichardEngel @OARichardEngel @NBCNews 2) While the Turkish army fully complies with the deal cut with the US for the facilitation the Peace Corridor, PKK/YPG terrorists continue to make violations in the #OperationPeaceSpring area,,carrying out multiple attacks with mortar, car bombs and drones.
There two main mistakes rages on in the media and articulated by many political figures and analysts which would eventually mislead the reading of geopolitical consequences of Turkey’s #OperationPeaceSpring as it did during #OperationOliveBranch
1) the equation of YPG to the entire Kurdish community and overcasting YPG-PKK ties: YPG is an overwhelmingly controversial group and has a bad recent past in it treatment to the peoples living in the region. So the population is suspected to come to their help
2) claiming the massacre of Kurds is underway: this was the same rhetoric employed during #OperationOliveBranch but check this:
