Listening to the marvellous @hpdang discuss open source adoption in Asia and the sustainability of the community with a vision of building a better future through sharing & collaboration #OSCON ... this really should be a keynote.
Oh ... eventyay.com ... this looks useful for #MapCamp ... oh, an open sourced smart speaker - susi.ai ... oh, and on and on. Loving this #FOSSASIA
Oodles of lessons on creating a sustainable community from motivations, skillsets (encouraging designers and tech writers), participation in the local community, events, high rates of diversity (47% of attendees are women) and focus on positive community. #FOSSASIA is awesome.

Listening to SAP describe how to "level up your dev culture" #OSCON ...
Hmmm ... "process kills culture". That's a a fairly wild statement especially as process (and artefacts from past process) are an aspect of culture. Context is so important here.
... "The tool is not important, what matters is the process" ... ok, this is becoming somewhat confused.

Now we're into competing values frameworks.

"Measure, act and repeat" ... "I came up with this yesterday and I'm feeling good about it"

Excellent shout-out by @megansanicki to the importance of documentation and the value of technical writers in open source. Couldn't agree more. Google launching "Season of Docs" ... awesome. #OSCON
... three critical aspects of great software engineering that are of equal importance to the code but have often been treated as 2nd class citizens are testing, user experience and documentation.
One of the most amazing communities, one that just seems impossible - a mess of coding and standards, a clash of personalities and cultures, a mix of code to design to content - that somehow in all the chaos creates something truly amazing is the Skyrim modding community.

And now @Carl_F_Meadows delivers a talk that purports to be something other than @elastic getting the kicking it was begging for with their license commingling shenanigans.
Don't get me wrong; I firmly believe that @awscloud lies awake at night worried that someone else may be making money, but in this case it feels like the right move on their part.
Now @Carl_F_Meadows takes his career in his hands to explain the history of Elastic's issues with open source. One misspeak and lawyers will pounce. They've not been fed in weeks.

And now, an @awscloud #oscon panel including @adamhjk, @_msw_, @vmbrasseur, @mjasay, @zahedab, and @farriss.

And not me. I feel the need to be very, very clear on this point.

Because @ginablaber was unsure ... yes, I do wear identical clothes i.e. my 7 (one I'm wearing) shirts for #OSCON ... I'd guess I'm not the only one.
Oh, actually it's 8 ... I had one from yesterday (now in the washing bag).
X : Do you find choosing clothes stressful?
Me : Yes. Hence over 20 years ago I wiped out the choice. I only have two outfits (duplicated many times, down to the shoes) ... one for hot weather, one for cold.
