I'm candidly a bit of a mess right now. One of my besties is critically ill, with a long battle ahead. The US spent a week on the brink of war. The President is insane.

Having to check myself on rescue fantasies of the ideal feminist man whisking me & kids off "somewhere safe."
(internalized patriarchy never really dies, you know, it just waits 'til you're exhausted and scared to rear its head again sigh)
Just remembered that in a fit of pique last night I ordered the last four @Writer_DG #Outlander books from Amazon *from my bed*. They are arriving at my door within the hour.

Combine that with the @Outlander_STARZ return on 2/16, and I might manage to keep at it. 😂

I love how book #RogerMac prayed to be worthy of Brianna on Christmas Eve in church before he proposed to her. It shows his respect and humility. 😍 Thoughts?

Join me Fridays for #RogerRetold, celebrating Roger’s thoughts and words in the book that didn’t make it into the show.
He relaxed just a bit when he realized the content of his prayer; it wasn’t the ignoble “Let me have her” he might have expected. It was the more humble—and acceptable, he hoped—“ Let me be worthy of her, let me love her rightly; let me take care of her.” Drums of Autumn, Ch. 18
Our #RogerRetold discussion continues Friday! For context, here’s a peek at the setting of the passage we'll be looking at. It's after Christmas Eve mass, walking along the river.

Soooooo... #IHaveSomeThoughts about #Outlander #RogerAndBree
Approximately 20 years ago #DrumsofAutumn was released. I vividly remember reading it in high school as my own-choice independent novel which I was then required to write an essay about.
What is coming back to me quite clearly as I watch the show adaptation is how frustratingly real and fallible I found both characters. I feel that they’ve captured that quality of their dynamic at this early part of their relationship quite well.
They’ve never lived together. They’ve barely shared space for more than a week or two at a time. They lived on different continents! Roger hasn’t yet learned that Brianna pushes away when she really wants people to stay in an argument (to his credit he DOES learn this).

It's excruciatingly embarrassing that our press has pumped out so much bilge about the EU that .@EUlondonrep had to have a page on its website dedicated to "A-Z of Euromyths".

As it's Friday, I've picked out my top-ten stupid stories by the British press on the EU #Thread
In at N°10 in the Brit EU-#FakeNews Hit Parade: The S*n claimed the EU wanted to ban BAGPIPES. I'm sure Her Majesty the Queen would have had something to say about that, of whom more anon...

At N°9 in the Brit EU-#FakeNews Hit Parade: The Daily Telegraph, which is now almost as bad as red-tops for fake news when it comes to the EU, claimed the EU wanted to ban that most famous of British icons, the doubled-decker bus.
