How to pause your emails when your subscribers are OoO (Out-of-Office)?

📷 Picture this: You're opening your email inbox after a well-deserved vacation, and your notifications 🔴 banner keeps growing like a maniac. 😱

#emailmarketing #ooo #outofoffice #marketingautomation
Nobody likes that—an inbox filled with emails of all kinds.

It will take a week to go through the entire inbox and select the ones that matter. All of the rest?

❌ Goes to the trash;

❌ Unsubscribe (when we're lucky);

❌ That fabulous spam button is so easy to click. 🫣
➜ The point is that you don't want to be on that batch of emails.

But how can you pause your emails from reaching out-of-office people if they don't say anything?

People's 'out of office' messages can be fascinating. Here are ten of my favourite types....a thread! #outofoffice #corporatelife #officelife #wednesdaythought
1/10) The Unhelpful: “I’m currently out of the office”

Okay, really useful. Care to provide any more details? Or is this a deliberate ploy to avoid any work being sent your way?
2/10) The offloader:. “I’m currently out of the office but do contact my colleague Priya who will be happy to help”

She won’t, trust me. Priya’s got enough on her plate.

This is thought-provoking campaign on gender pay-gap.....today's the 'last day' women get paid (as it were) via my friend @fullerette3 #OutOfOffice for #EqualPayDay @WEP_UK
@fullerette3 @WEP_UK That said, this discussion often muddies pay-equality and the gender pay-gap.

Which is to say, this isn't an "equal pay for equal work" issue, in a lot of cases, its a structural issue - not enough women at the top earning the higher salaries, for complex reasons.
@fullerette3 @WEP_UK Basically it would be in everyone's interests (men's too, on the subject of access to affordable childcare) if workplace culture shifted to enable more women to retain career paths while taking time off for the joint enterprise that is raising children.
