Beginnen wir mit der wohl größten Schlappe für Klöckner in ihrer Amtszeit: Schon von Anfang an zu lasch und unverbindlich, waren die Pläne für das staatl. „Tierwohllabel“ eine einzige Katastrophe.

Weder sollte das Label verpflichtend sein, noch waren die Anforderungen ausreichend: Die Schweine hätten bei der “Stufe 1” gerade mal 0,9 m2 mehr Platz gehabt- so viel wie 1,5 DinA4 Seiten. Bei dieser “Verbesserung” von Tierschutz zu sprechen ist Verbrauchertäuschung!

In animal welfare science, some areas (particularly where large industries have integrated R&D culture, like dairy/eggs/meat/wool sectors) are well funded. Other human-animal interaction research (where human health outcomes integrated) gets funded too...
... However, the animal experience/welfare side is often under-researched (or absent) in favour of human health outcomes. This is disappointing, only researches half the story & risks exploitation rather than science which helps shape evidence-based best practice #animalwelfare
It's my hope that more researchers, institutes & funders will insist on #animalwelfare being robustly measured in new studies of human-animal interaction and tricky areas like wildlife management in the future. We are lucky to have support of @UFAW_1926 @AnimalWelfareRN #science

Nu skal I høre en vild historie. På Aarhus Universitet ligger der et center for Grundtvig-forskning. Centeret har som hovedopgave at digitalisere Grundtvigs samlede værker og udgive dem i en kommenteret udgave, så alle kan læse og forstå, hvad den gamle gubbe skrev.
Centeret har været i sving i ti år. Det er et kæmpemæssigt arbejde at tilgængeliggøre og kommentere Grundtvigs samlede værker. Manden skrev i gennemsnit mere end en side om dagen hver dag 365 dage om året i alle de 70 år han var aktiv skribent.
De dygtige editionsfilologer på centeret har knoklet med at udgive og forklare de tit ret så svært forståelige tekster, og centeret holder tidsplanen for udgivelsen. Lige nu er de omkring halvvejs med arbejdet.

Ok. It’s time to go into Joshua’s memory box and tell his story #thread
Joshua was very much a rainbow baby 🌈 and we were so excited and over the moon when I finally made it into the second trimester. (Alex and I are both big rugby fans!)
I was working as a 1st year Registrar in A&E when I suddenly broke my waters at 24 weeks. I was transferred to Southampton @UHSFT who have a specialist level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They were wonderful, and did everything they could to stop my labour over Father’s Day.
