US initiated regime change conspiracy in Pak after IK followed an indep foreign policy which culminated in his Russia visit (approved by all stakeholders) & abstentions on Ukraine resolutions in UN & UNHRC. In Pak US has always sought & gotten compliant PPP (post ZAB) & PMLN ldrs
Even r earlier history from Liaquat Ali Khan thru the mly dictatorships kowtowing before US demands was sadly a norm. But coming to these 2 Parties now forming #ImportedGovt. Look at some US actions against Pak in more recent times: Pressler Amend (1985) invoked 1st time in 1990
So delivery of ordered & paid for F16s (in 1989) stopped in Oct 1990. Pak made to pay parking charges on these F16s too! MNS comes to power & makes a bizarre deal with US in Dec 1998:US would give us back our F16 money but not in cash - only in wheat & soya beans ($324 mn worth!)

عسکری معاملات پر مجھے ہمیشہ سخت گیر مؤقف کی حامل سمجھاجاتا ہےاورمجھے اس پر فخر ہےکیونکہ پاکستان کیلئےمیں بھرپور عسکری صلاحیت خصوصاً کامل ہمہ جہت دفاعی استعداد پر یقین رکھتی ہوں۔ اس کے ساتھ دستورِ پاکستان کے تحت جمہوریت اور سویلین بالادستی پر بھی میرا ایمان کامل ہے۔
چنانچہ سمجھ لیجئےکہ اپنی مرضی کے CMsکی تقرریوں سےPM کسی تکبر کے مرتکب نہیں ہوتےبلکہ یہ اُنکا اسی طرح استحقاق ہےجیسےتینوں سروسزچیفس کی تعیناتیوں پر انہیں صدرِمملکت کومشورہ دینےکاحق حاصل ہے۔DGI کاانتخاب بھی انہی کااستحقاق ہے۔عسکری تقرریوں پر ہمیشہ درست طور پر فوج سےمشاورت کی گئی
A lot of confusion is unnecessarily being created over civil-mly relations. Let's get some facts clear. In a democracy civilian supremacy is the norm but for the state to function effectively there must be civil - mly harmony.
I have always been known as a hawk on military matters & I carry that label with pride bec I believe in a strong mly capability for Pak, esp Full Spectrum Deterrence. However I also believe strongly in democracy & civilian supremacy as envisaged in our constitution.
So let's be clear. There is no arrogance in a PM appointing CMs of his choice - in fact it is his prerogative. Just as it his prerogative to advise President on selection of the 3 service chiefs. PM's prerogative to select DGI. Advice on mly appts always rightly sought from mly.
