In case you're wondering how politicians use cooperative banks as their personal piggy banks, here's how it works.

#PMCbank thread 👇
Step 1: People known to politicians are appointed as directors. Can be a son/daughter/friend/peon/driver.

They're all just proxies so it doesn't matter whether they are educated or not. They don't even need to pay attention to the functioning of the bank.
Step 2: Entice hardworking people to deposit their money in this bank.

So there is this CA chap who runs a very successful CA coaching academy in Maharashtra. You know.. those places which are like factories run by CAs to create more CAs?

That one. Quite a nice business, to be honest.
Anyway, this chap randomly gets a ticket from a regional party to fight elections from Nagpur. And he wins.

The man is taken aback, his wife is even more taken aback. Then it dawns on them, after winning elections, that they know jackshit about what MPs are supposed to do.
Hey, the man is used to giving lectures to like 300 students at a time. MPs do the same thing, right?

He runs a successful business, so it can't be hard, right?

WRONG. Our man Prabhu Srikar learns the hard way, tragically, after he enters Parliament that things are not as easy.
