💡 Global Response to #COVID19 #Hunger Crisis: Developing Effective Policy Responses through the @UN_CFS [🧵thread]

"COVID19 has not only been a public health crisis, but it has also generated a hunger crisis. The virus is new, but it has been predictably harshest on marginalised people. In fact, the world was falling behind on realising the right to food even before the current pandemic." /2
"Even with new vaccines, it will be some time before the global #health situation stabilises & it will be at least a decade before the world recovers economically. Meanwhile, Member States and international orgs have not yet come together to tackle the looming hunger crisis." /3

Many people don’t know the National Commission for Nomadic Education was a concept of Professor Mary Lar (respected educationists and spouse to Da Solomon Lar, the first Executive Governor of defunct Plateau State). She was the Director of the Centre for Nomadic Education UniJos.
The first Secretary/Coordinator of the NCNE program was Mr. Nathaniel Okonkwo, the first Executive Secretary was Professor Chima Ezeoma, he was succeeded by Professor Gidado Tahir, then Dr. Nafisatu D. Muhammad, then Professor Rashid Aderinoye and now Prof. Bashir H. Usman.
The mandate of the NCNE covers basic education of children of #Pastoralists, (Migrant Herders), Migrant Farmers or Migrant Crop Producers and Migrant Fisherfolks. I know many Tivs, Igbos, Yorubas and others who work in the commission. How can it host a “Fulani” Radio?
