De acuerdo a las previsiones para el desarrollo de la actual #CampañaAntártica 2021/2022, se iniciaron las actividades en base #Petrel, tendientes a la reconversión de la misma. 
Petrel constituye una prioridad para el @MindefArg quien ha ordenado al @EMCOFFA_Arg, desarrollar un plan de cuatro etapas para convertir la base en un nodo logístico que permitirá hacer más eficiente el transporte de personal y cargas entre el continente y las bases antárticas.
Con la llegada al extremo norte de la Península Antártica de los buques Transporte ARA “Canal Beagle” y Aviso ARA “Puerto Argentino”, se inició la operación de descarga de los materiales, vehículos y maquinaria vial en la base antártica conjunta #Petrel.
