Is it hypocritical to write about threats to academic freedom whilst denying it to others?

A cautionary tale about conceptual imperialism, political dogmatism & asserting The Truth

TLDR: stopping the @AHFdoco is only defensible if one thinks trans theory is The Truth.
I agree with much of what @DrSarahLiu says *in principle*. Academic freedom is under threat by bad faith actors world over. Look at Bolsonaro when he was elected. He shut down much of what sociology depts studied.
But @DrSarahLiu’s reduction ie AF without ‘accountability’ leads to hate speech etc or intrusion of bad faith ideologies is overly simplified and generalised.

I'm watching @hbomax #phoenixrising listening to Evan Rachel Wood's story. Her first account of a "crime" is that she claims Manson penetrated her during the filming of a music video but she never said stop. She never said no. There was a room full of people, she says
But she never cried out for help. If your boyfriend is having sex with you and you don't say no and in fact are hamming it up for the cameras, he's going to think you like it. That is not a crime. That is literally consent. So far, this documentary is not convincing.
But I'll keep at it. Maybe there will be something more substantial than "I hated it but I didn't tell anyone or say no."
