So @stellacreasy continues her campaign to stigmatise photography.

We already have laws against voyeurism and harassment, which all of us should support, and I do.

Has she ever tried being a male photographer? Routinely we are abused, threatened,
chased ... I've been casually catcalled as a pervert for taking a photo of an empty beer bottle, I took a photo of a dog burying its ball in the sand and was asked if it was "better than taking pictures of other people's kiddies" and am endlessly challenged, glared at, chastised.
This comes from police, security guards, shopkeepers, youths, parents, passers-by ...

Sovereign-self philistines like @stellacreasy and @JeffSmithetc feed this.

It's easy to see how a photo of a breastfeeding mother could be a powerful work of art.

In the corridors of human-elephant co-existence.

1/ This thread is dedicated to the most magnificent of the animals on earth, the Elephant. Huge yet humble, powerful yet responsible, intelligent yet unassuming, it is held in great awe and reverence. And, it is feared too.
2/ Recent deaths of elephants, most notably that of the pregnant elephant in Kerala, have shaken the collective conscience of the society. Foresters, generally held responsible, are equally, if not more, pained by such unfortunate incidents & unnatural death of any wild animal.
3/ I remember having spent many a sleepless nights and anxious days dealing with extreme human-elephant conflict situations in my Division during 2004-08. A major part of my tenure was devoted to preventing such occurrences. The situation has not changed much over the years.

1/ A photographic look at the Trump visit to University Medical Center in #ElPaso. He visited there after the 7th worst #massshooting in US history. Targeting #Latinos, the attack killed at least 22 and injured 26. Pictures from Dayton included.
2/ Trump is vilified by many in El Paso for his border war, and his venom and prejudice appears to have helped inspire a white nationalist to target Latinos and commit mass murder. He planned to visit hospitalized survivors, but none would meet with him. So, what to do?
3/ What Trump is accomplished at is flipping the script. In a remarkable cache of 40 pictures on its Flickr feed, the @WhiteHouse bombarded the media and social media with exclusive images of his #ElPaso visit after excluding the press from covering it.
