Rejection hurts. There's no denying it.

But just because your business pitch was rejected by a venture capitalist (VC) doesn't mean that your startup is doomed.

In fact, getting rejected can be a good thing. It can help you learn, grow, and become a stronger entrepreneur.

Here are three things to do when your business pitch is rejected by a VC:

1. Don't take it personally

It's easy to take rejection personally, but it's important to remember that it's not about you as a person. It's about your business pitch.

Maybe the VC didn't like your idea, or maybe they didn't think your startup was ready for investment.

Also remember, VCs are bombarded with pitches every day. They can't invest in all of them, so it's not surprising that most pitches are rejected.

I lead the #SIRENStudy and have been studying the impact of prior infection with COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccinations on immunity for more than 18 months. We have published multiple studies with collaborators. The most recent preprint is available here medrxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/6

In this pre-print, which is under peer review, we demonstrate that 2 doses of vaccination on top of prior of infection, significantly reduces both asymptomatic & symptomatic infection compared to infection alone - Table 3 - the longer since primary infection the more effect 2/6

This is on top of the evidence provided in the original paper showing immunity 81-87% immunity with the original strains and early alpha period.... but just as immunity wanes from vaccines so it does from primary infection. 3/6

Who are the US religious right orgs seeking to influence the sex and gender debates?

This analysis from @openDemocracy is interesting (but not evidence of funding to UK gender dissidents)

Some observations:

1) No gender critical campaigns or legal crowdfunders are getting funding from these organisations.

Crowdfunders are anonymous of course. This is what mine looks like - mainly small donations from lots of people.

2) The total is not that big $2.8m (£2.1m)

...for the whole of Europe.

(and around $7m for the world outside US)

By comparison Stonewall's annual budget is £8m, including £3m from the Diversity Champions programmes with employers, universities and schools

Insurance (Negative) Visualisation - Premeditation of adversity. Think of it as foresight. Before something happens, you ask ‘What could go wrong?’ ‘What obstacle could pop up?’ ‘Where could I face difficulties?’
