I know some people are questioning why #PlaidShirtGuy & others were taken out of the @realDonaldTrump rally the other night. But if you're one who is "astonished" by it, don't be. It's nothing new in politics. It's all political theatre & gamesmanship. #politics

I've covered rallies where the campaign team is trying to hype up the crowd & telling them "that's not good enough." I've also seen them arranging candidates behind leaders to look more diverse. All parties do it. #politics

You can certainly ask the questions about vetting those trying to get in behind the leader or who is actually paying for those "supporters" (if they're being paid at all). But never forget it's all just theatre & gamesmanship. #politics
