#procrastination
Procrastination can be a tough habit to break, but there are several strategies that can help you overcome it. Here are some tips to help you stop procrastinating:

1. Set clear goals and priorities:
One of the main reasons we procrastinate is because we're not sure what we...
...should be doing.

Make a list of tasks that need to be done, and prioritise them according to their importance and urgency.

Having a clear sense of what you need to accomplish can help you stay focused and avoid distractions.

Tomato, Pomodoro!I've been using the Pomodoro technique recently to increase productivity. When I mention this to people the response is "Pomo-whatnow?!"I thought I would provide a summary in a thread. Read on for a primer of Pomodoro & how it may help you level up productivity 1/
2/
In the late 80s Italian-German uni student & programmer Francesco Cirillo began timeboxing work & study into small 25min blocks. He tracked these using a tomato shaped timer, called a Pomodoro, Italian for tomato. Shared widely in the 90s he published a book on it in 2006.
3/
Enough history, what does it actually involve and why does it work so well?
The process is pretty simple:
1. Get yourself a timer
2. Write down a to-do list of items you need to complete

I always knew that @NotionHQ is really powerful but I haven’t really been able to leverage it in the past.

Over the holidays, I completely revamped my personal productivity and life organization system.

All in Notion.

This is what I accomplished 👇
1/ Unification

With this revamp, I dropped several apps including Todoist, Journey, Goodreads, and Apple Notes. I also no longer need to maintain an analog bullet journal.

Everything is available in an easy to digest dashboard. Image
2/ Advanced Todo List

Think GTD + Bullet Journaling

Given I am in a permanent remote job and always at home, I am no longer working typical 9-5 hours. Work/Life is all integrated so I reflected this in the to-do list as well.

Heavy usage of Notion DBs and linking. Image

Two weeks ago I asked my fellow #AcademicTwitter:

How to cope with doing a part time #PhD and full time work in times of #COVID19?

Here are the tips I have received: a thread

#phdpandemic @AcademicChatter @careerconversa1 1/
"1. Work on your motivation. Why do you want a #PhD? " @4nn4nd4

It may help to create a mindmap of your own reasons and have it always visible. In my case, I like to write lists so I put a post-it at my computer with my top 3 to keep the motivation up.

"2. Manage your energy, not your time." @elfriesen

In times of #phdpandemic our energy may be very low. So, it is important to make good use of it.

@elfriesen suggests the @ProfessorIsIn and @kelweinhold

The course is teaching how learning happens. The course lessons are backed up by #neurological science. #Learning is not something only for the young, there are techniques that are easily obtainable to help you learn difficult subjects in any discipline.

"We ordinarily think of learning as something we do when we sit down to study a book. But actually, being able to learn more easily and deeply involves many important facets--including not only periods of focused concentration, but also periods of relaxation...

#Pomodoro helps me focus @buziia16. I do 4 before an extended break but when I am in the flow, I work thru (THREAD)
2/ On days where I work my FT job, I try to do 4 at night and on my days off I aim for 6-8 #pomodoros. Some days I get as high as 10-12.
3/ I use an app on my phone called Pomodroido to track them. And I have noticed that I can focus easier without constantly relying on it.
