For certain genres of editing there is an editor skill shortage. There is literally more footage going to post than there are editors to edit it.
Trying my hand at making one of these 🧵's. Here are five Avid @MediaComposer keyboard shortcuts you might not know... #postchat #avid
1. Loop Play In-to-Out
You can set an In Point and Out Point in Avid and just play that section by hitting the 6 key (top row #6, not the number pad #6). Did you know you can loop this playback? Hold the Opt (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key and hit the number 6.

2. Slow Down Fast Playback Speed w/o Stopping
Using J-K-L you can play backwards, pause, and play forwards. Hitting the J or L keys multiple times in a row will speed up your playback. Most people, like me, hit that L key twice and watch at double speed a lot of the time...

Step 1: Conversation
• Chat about the project
• I take lots of notes and ask questions about their passion for the topic, big wins, etc

• I send an email after the meeting thanking them for the call
