If, like me, you have the desire to help but are unsure of how, because things feel seismic and primal and massive, I propose one thing we can always do to avoid #paralysis is begin with personal practice. #BlackLivesMatter
(1/18)
We become what we practice.
#Practice a skill and you become better at it. Cease its practice and you become better at its opposite. There's no status quo. We are always practicing something. #BlackLivesMatter

If I cease practicing the acquisition, validation and refinement of knowledge, I don't just become worse at learning, I become better at misinformation and ignorance. #BlackLivesMatter

Never thought the pandemic will bring up any questions for energy engineers. But when #energy minister of a state raises concerns, they should not be brushed aside. 1/n #IndiaFightsCorona
Every evening as all of us switch on lights, total load on the grid increases by about 17GW over about an hour. This is a jump of ~15% compared to average load. 2/n #IndiaFightsCorona
Thus, it would be realistic to expect a sudden drop of up to 10% on evening of 5th as we follow the words of @narendramodi. The rate of change will be much more than usual 3/n #IndiaFightsCorona

When Gerald Ford was president he gave the working American people $100 dollars each to help stimulate the economy.
When George W. Bush or Bush 43 was president he gave the American people $300 each to help stimulate the economy.
Now that Trump is President, he is planning on giving working Americans $1200 each to help stimulate our economy.

#MetaphysicsOfQuality iⁿtrade:

• Fixed #RiskManagement is Percentage #StopLoss.
• Such a StopLoss is -100% of the initial MarginLevel Percentage.
• So #netting may appear at -50% of MarginLevel Percentage.
• Any #LEVERAGE just offers #DrawDown
kind of limited LOSS.

• A #lever on #fulcrum is
better than leverage!
• My #BreadthScreener™ is
not a BLACKBOX!
• It SPOTS the FULCRUM &
NABS the SHORT LEVER:
• The #BreadthScreener™ is a #non_forecasting,
#volatility-gauging,
#trading #system
#ConstantRisk #FixedRisk #Management SURVIVES!
🔻
• Since #practice precedes #theory,
#RiskManagement precedes #trading setups;
• Since theory doesn't make difference between theory & practice,
— Setups' forecasting don't forecast fail;
• Since practice makes the difference,
#FixedRisk precedes #TradingStrategy setups

#Neuroscientists worldwide are increasingly studying #myelin and its amazing impact on rapid #learning, mastery, and neuroplasticity. So keep your circuits strong with deep, focused practice, but remember: #myelination requires quality versus quantity.
What Is #Myelination?
Myelination is the process of “insulating” a new neural pathway to strengthen it and to forge new default #behaviors. Heavily myelinated neural pathways are up to 300 times faster.
They’ve been optimized for speed and #efficiency. Increasing #myelination via intentional #practice helps us become more emotionally agile.

Insurance Companies frequently send letters out informing patients that they will not any longer cover medications that I prescribe. It appears that they are targeting #Independent #Doctors that they cannot #Control.
Are there any other doctors that see this pattern? Why on Earth would I remove meds from patients that are doing so well & have no side effects? It would be against my medical oath of "do no harm."
Read the letter they sent to me. CVS writes: " CVS Caremark wants to help your patients stay adherent to their medication therapy." Really? So you discontinue coverage for patients that are doing so well & make them pay for it completely themselves, & you claim you wish to help?

On defining #creativity @rexjung :

Distinct from #intelligence – a superhighway; #creativity as a slow meandering process down dirt road / side road

Must be both #novel and @useful – beyond simple #utility – something #new within a social context. Unexpected links ✨🤓✨

Great evening @brownejacobson yesterday on turning #policy into #practice: how to turn political speech into implementable law. So many takeaways... #CPhOFellows
From #policywindows and #policyentrepreneurs to #lawfulaudacity, good policy = hope+clarity+plan and doing your job but also making it better for the next person in it
And what mistakes the #NHS needs to avoid around #policy: operational ppl and policy makers detached; thinking it won’t happen; thinking the detail is already all worked out; avoiding considering how new policy can actually assist your work and not getting board buy in 😢

'The government applied that label to people like Osama bin Laden & other Islamic jihadists. But now the Obama administration has removed all references to Islam from terror training materials, & instead the term “terrorist” is being applied to large groups of American citizens.'

"Is gang stalking prohibited under law? Yes, it may not be spelled out as "gang stalking" per se but the methods and tactics perpetrators use against their victims or targets is not allowed by law."

Once the government is committed to the principal of silencing opposition it has only one way to go & that is down th path of increasingly repressive measures until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens & creates a country whr all live in fear vimeo.com/288238708

#365photochallenge
I´ll say it also in English :)
I´m gonna try a photography 365 project, but instead of taking photos, processing old random photos of mine...
Only one rule: the square format.
Let´s see what I got, which will be directly affected by the mood of the day...

THE ARCHER
There was a young archer who was winning competition after competition. Riding high on success he challenged the old master to a test of skills.

The young archer let the first arrow loose and it landed dead center of the bullseye. The second found its way home too.
"Ha! Beat THAT, if you can!" he boasted.

The master smiled nodding his head slowly. "Impressive. Let's take a walk," he said as he headed towards the nearby mountain.

Up they climbed all afternoon. The master said nothing. The young challenger grew more curious.
They finally reached a deep chasm with an old fallen tree acting as a natural bridge. The master calmly strode to the middle of the log, called a distant tree as his target, took aim, and let the arrow fly.

Dead center of a tiny knot in the trunk.
