Encounter of Asad happened when Atiq Ahmad and his brother were produced before a court here on Thursday in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case. They were presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Gautam around 11:10 am amid security deployment.

BREAKING: UP government informs Allahabad High Court that, Javed Mohammad, whose house was demolished in #Prayagraj used the premises commercially for 'Welfare Party of India'. #UP has also told the court that the demolition order was passed on May 25, 2022.
#UP has filed a counter affidavit in plea filed by Javed’s wife Parveen Fatima before Allahabad High Court. The affidavit further states that Javed Mohammad is the State General Secretary of ‘Welfare Party of India’
According to the counter affidavit, Parveen Fatima in her plea has not told the court that a demolition order was passed in May 2022. It has been stated that the demolition order itself is not challenged in the plea and hence it is not maintainable.
#SupremeCourt will today hear pleas filed by Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind against the demolition of private properties in #Prayagraj and #Kanpur.
The #UttarPradesh government has filed a reply stating that demolitions carried out by the Kanpur and Prayagraj Development Authority were strictly in compliance with the UP Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973.

Inspired by the Persepolis pic, sharing a few 'pillars' seen in India. This set is of the Heliodorus pillar, a stone column in #Vidisha, MP. Could have been part of a Vishnu temple that was once at this site. Indo-Greek, dated to 113 BCE, rediscovered by Cunningham, 1877.
This pillar is a virtual witness of Indian History - bearing inscriptions of Ashoka, Samudragupta and Jahangir. Originally Ashokan, was moved from Kaushambhi to its present day location inside the fort at #Prayagraj to commemorate Jahangir's accession.
#ExploreUP: Kaushambhi is one of India's finest excavated sites. It still retains one Ashokan pillar which stands amidst green fields.

Apart from scoring political brownie points, let us not forget that changing names of cities leads to massive (unnecessary) expenses.
Just think of the signboards on highways which currently read Allahabad that'll need to be changed to #Prayagraj.
