In continuation of the operational mandate to stamp banditry and untoward activities out of North-West zone of the country, troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY on 14 July 2020 neutralised 6 armed bandits. Acting on credible Human Intelligence, troops of Operation SAHEL SANITY
backed by helicopter gunships of the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI stormed the bandits' enclave at Komani Hills within Rukudawa general area of Zamfara State and made contact with the criminals elements.

Hats off, they've shown the slide with the UK having the worst death toll in Europe. Thought they would shy away from it. #PressBriefing
(It always feels misleading to have the US in there, because they're a country with over 5x our population, and it makes all the other lines look small. But it's been there since the beginning of these press conferences, so can't be helped.)
Here's a slightly different look at the data, with more detail on France, and the US stripped out. This is from a spreadsheet I've been keeping, based on a variety of data sources.
Once again, the UK Government chose to use France's "all deaths" figure to compare against the number of UK coronavirus deaths, even though France breaks down deaths in hospital separately. (Makes our death toll look "better" because it's below France)

However, now that another week's worth of ONS data is available, it's been incorporated into the UK (all settings) count, and suddenly we're above every country apart from the USA and Spain, leapfrogging very wide of France and Italy.
There is a second problem with this slide. By reporting the US death toll (fair enough, *but*...) it makes all the other death tolls look relatively puny by comparison. But they've got 5x the population of the UK, so it's not remotely surprising they're higher than us.

I also explained in details, how and why our citizens from Cote d’Ivoire were allowed into the country and the steps taken to ensure that they are safe, protected and tested. They were made to go through a compulsory government isolation where some of them tested positive.
