The origins of India's Flag.

"I asked Mr. Venkayya to give me a design containing a spinning-wheel on a red (Hindu colour) and green (Muslim colour) background." M K Gandhi (COLLECTED WORKS, VOL. 23 (Young India 13-4-1921))

Later the Red was changed to Saffron.
So the Indian flag symbolized Gandhi's political project of Hindu-Muslim unity.

That project failed with the partition. While Pakistan's flag became green, India remained stuck with pre-partition politics, cut off from traditional Indian civilization.

Gandhi's false equivalence and appeasement only led to partition, not "unity." It equated imperialistic predators with those who resisted.
