Conservative Party has been split since the referendum. What the country and public are seeing is the ERG in action.#projectreality is now happening at a huge cost to the UK. It’s always everyone else’s fault and the ERG will always blame others for consequences of their actions
However moderate and blue worker Conservative MPs were not prepared to stand up to them when it mattered. They are reaping the consequences as is the nation. Attacking institutions is all ERG know. Europe, Parliament, Judiciary, OBR, Bank of England and on it goes
Meanwhile the croynism cult continues whether the rough awarding of contracts in #covid or #ethicsappointments or non appointments. #HouseofLords and unsuitable appointments. The decent fundamental values in the UK have been trashed for donations and loyalty to ERG.

I would like to know why for several years the business people invited onto news programs have been only the deluded idiots who did not understand this basic truth. The @BBC in particular made it look again and again like it was a 50 50 split on opinion on this.
In fact I bet it was probably, amongst business people, more like 80-90 percent of the opinion that Brexit is costly and will leave our businesses significantly worse off. And only about 5 percent who are absolutely convinced it is the bees knees!
The reality in business and industry is that there was no finely balanced opinion. Overwhelming consensus was, in the most simplistic terms, that #brexit was never going to be something which helps business or industry and was only going to cause damage.

I've written about #Brexit since 2015 #FBPE, mostly in threads to go deeper than Twitter otherwise allows.

Typically I give a pic summary, with a thread of evidence. Trust nothing without source material. Use, bookmark or share what I do - it's made for you.

Let's #StopBrexit.
The main Tread runs continuously, off links are topics.

Thread 1. "Opposing The Brexits is a Democratic Obligation".

The original 2016 Brexit is lost. And with it any democratic consent. #StoptheCoup is accurate. It is a Coup.

Thread 2. "A Return to the EEC"

So could there have been a compromise between #Remain and #Leave that left the UK better off?

This thread was the culmination of about a year's work to find one.

Not easy. Not perfect. But far far better than Boris.

A list of what will actually happen if we stay in the EU, and what has already been agreed. Check it out if you wish: Thread
1: The UK along with all existing members of the EU lose their abstention veto in 2020 as laid down in the Lisbon Treaty when the system changes to that of majority acceptance with no abstentions or veto’s being allowed.
2: All member nations will become states of the new federal nation of the EU by 2022 as clearly laid out in the Lisbon treaty with no exceptions or vetoes.

Super-massive "realities of Brexit" thread. Jobs are going, investment is drying up, firms are moving assets to the EU27 or redomiciling. Contingency plans are being executed left and right. Meanwhile, Brexit has already cost us £billions. All happening NOW. #projectreality 1/110

I've been doing a bit of number crunching to see what date, with no-one changing their minds, demographics will show that the British people voted to remain. That date is 27th January 2021. On that date, the UK voted #Remain. (1/3)
My workings are here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… My calcs are NOT perfect, but I feel they're a pretty good indicator. (2/3)
Of course, this all assumes that no-one has changed their minds, but as #ProjectFear turns into #ProjectReality it would be pretty mad to think no-one is changing their mind! (3/3)
