#Ptbo #PtboKawartha As you know, I am a local critic of our MP @mferreriptbokaw. The consistent Q I ask is “What has she actually done for our Riding?”
@mferreriptbokaw I was hoping for some action with the recent 6-week House of Commons recess, making Ms. Ferreri available to accomplish something for us during her time here. As we can all attest, this certainly hasn’t happened in her 16 months as our MP. Ms. Ferreri returned to Ottawa today.
During this 6-week HoC recess, where MPs return to their Ridings to work, taxpayers paid her a salary of $21,346 + expenses: office and staff in both Ottawa & locally, gas, food, mileage, a student event etc. Giving her 2 weeks off for Christmas, she had 4 weeks available to her.

This is my 89 year old Mom waiting in the #Ptbo hospital garage for 4 hours to be triaged. She has severe parkinson's disease, dementia and covid. She was being treated by her nursing staff in her residence but was brought in due to a fall....con't #OntarioIsBroken
She had to be moved to to the end of the garage to make room for more patients. Everyone has #covid
When she was finally admitted, she was put in the 'out of service' room. These yellow stickers are posted all over the hospital. #ontarioisbroken

Many decry the decline of #Ptbo, drastic rise in societal ills since ~2018. A direct line can be drawn from who we elected, and its not Municipal. General characteristic? Liberals spend, Conservatives do not. I've never lived under an NDP gov't, so I'll trust others to chime in.
In June 2018, Ont chose @OntarioPCParty, with @DaveSmithMP unseating Jeff Leal (Lib) after 15 yrs. @NDPptbo came 2nd, by 2,386 votes. Our 1st rep with no political experience & a party that doesn't spend $, prefers the private sector to step in.

In Sept 2021, #Ptbo chose @CPC_HQ, with @mferreriptbokaw unseating Maryam Monsef (Lib) by 2,737 votes. Our 2nd rep with no political experience and a party that doesn't spend $, prefers the private sector to step in. What $ did Min Monsef bring? A🧵:

We visited the UK for a month in 2016, left a wk before Brexit vote. Seismic, unexpected societal change happened so fast, the world was spinning. Same shock with Trump's win. The opp to tap into & exploit a country's vulnerable moments. #Ottawa feels the same. Who's funding it?
The similarities are chilling. The point of all 3 is destabilization, the UK/US impact now at 6 yrs. Which is why, among many other reasons, #IStandWithTrudeau. There is no negotiating here, hauling massive amounts of fuel and building sheds = disaster waiting to happen. #cdnpoli
My neophyte MP, with very little political knowlege/diplomacy skills @mferreriptbokaw must examine her allegiance, plunged into the heady, sparkle of power, a manipulative circle around her. Reflect on the damage she will do here in #Ptbo by this burst of negative opportunity.

In his first media briefing as Peterborough Public Health’s new Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Thomas Piggott explains that COVID-19 is airborne. He explains what airborne transmission is, and what steps people can take to limit airborne transmission of COVID-19. #ptbo
Dr. Piggott says that tightly-fitted medical masks & respirator masks are effective in preventing the spread of airborne viruses. He explains that if people are concerned or find themselves in a concerning situation, wearing an N95 or KN95 respirator is an important intervention.
Thank you, @twpiggott for acknowledging #COVIDisAirborne. 🙌

I spent a couple of hours looking at the proposed transit routes and I'm still forming opinions but I thought I'd share some views of the map. Full map peterborough.ca/en/city-servic… @ptbo_transit @thebuscanada #ptbo
First off here's a simple view which shows the overall coverage. All one colour. This is the base map for the following images.
One of the things the proposed plan does it move away from a strong downtown up. So you get all these routes that don't go there.

@PtboExaminer I am normally a fan of @JoelleKovach’s @CityPtbo reporting. Here, I wonder if the Examiner was actually at this part of the meeting.

For an accurate report, see the City’s own Tweet last night, and the thread shared by @perspicuity1 today.
@PtboExaminer @JoelleKovach @CityPtbo @perspicuity1 The cut-through safety issues of Beamer & Parnell are accepted by all Councillors. System safety is 1 of 4 priorities staff were directed to focus on.

You missed the story: a truly generational decision on 20yr planning vision, based on overwhelming citizen input.
@PtboExaminer @JoelleKovach @CityPtbo @perspicuity1 Council told staff to deliver #modeshift and #climatechange action — as required by the province, and in aligninment with compact, mixed use urban form in the draft new OP — because it will make #Ptbo healthier, safer, more vibrant/livable, more equitable and vastly cheaper.
