#Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs faced internal upheaval under PM #ImranKhan's Government. Today, top Pakistani diplomats have conveyed to #PTIGovernment their strong reservations on reports that PM Khan plans to make public a confidential diplomatic cable public.
The cable does not contain any evidence of an international conspiracy. Pakistani diplomats and law enforcement are now convinced PM #ImranKhan Government has created this ruse to take to the public as a coverup for his governance failures.
There is concern in Pak circles that this international conspiracy ruse could be part of a wider plan to damage #Pakistan's decades-long international relations. There are signs PM Khan Govt pursued variations of this agenda since 2019, sparking to multiple foreign policy crises.

Since 2019, every day in #Pakistan sees new red lines crossed in military-bashing. The latest involves ridicule of top spy chief amid rising impression of state-media open clash. No one expected this to happen in PM #ImranKhan Govt, which started as friendliest to media+military.
This military-bashing, and dragging the top spy chief through the mud, is probably damaging for #Pakistan's military (both criticism & trolls-led defense). #PTIGovernment is distancing itself from this mess (Hint: see last grab here).
This military-bashing and dragging of spy chief's name through the mud in the most personal way possible is a serious matter, underlined by this rare official public comment by #ISI on the controversy, and the pushback through trolls & allies.
Blowback & retaliation anticipated today (#Friday) for #PTIGovernment banning #TLP. Mosques & seminaries/madrassas continue to operate beyond #Pakistani state's authority & control. Large scale #protests by TLP supporters & sympathizers expected nationwide after #Jummah prayers.
Taking a leaf out of #France's book, #TLP supporters on #socialmedia are using the hashtag #IAmSaadHussainRizvi (#IamSaadHusaainRizvi - with a spelling mistake - is also trending).

So, the #PTIGovernment is really very upset about the rising cost of pay and pensions in the federal government. Let me share a budget document with you all which shows the total cost of “Civilian” pension is PKR 470 Bn. for FY 2020-21, out of which cost of “Military pensions”
being paid amounting to Rs. 359 Bn, whereas, the estimate of total civilian pensions is Rs. 111 Bn.
If you all didn’t know, the expenditure of pension of military personnel is incurred from the civil current expenditure.
