Arnoud: Some industries will not be coming back to normal eg aviation until 2023. This will have serious long-term effects.

Chris: For some of us we will be doing what we've always done - albeit through a different medium eg online.
For us, being forced to do our work online has been very interesting.

Going online means we can do more events in one day - travel is not an issue. Costs are less.

With practice, video becomes more effective.

Charles' aim is to move IT from just a support function to a driver of change.

Chris: Thinking holistically, it would be an opportune time to reflect on how companies can build #digitisation into a business-wide context, rather than just in the IT department.

Charles: You can see the companies who have struggled and those who have been relatively ok. The ones who have invested in #digitisation have fared well. Many boards had talked about it but rarely do it. Many sites are overwhelmed as they can't cope with the volume. #QuirkWebinar
In terms of customer experience, it's not been good enough for many organisations. Quick access to information, automation, recognising who you are instantly are paramount. Customers expect more. Data security and handling payments are issues to look at too.

Chris deliberately used 'transition' to work rather than a resumption of work. It's hard to put a date on when that will be. There are a no. of factors to consider:
- people (cultures and training shifting)
- situational awareness
- planning & testing
- innovation

Q to Melanie: what are the issues CPA are facing?

We are seeing a lot of shifts, highly dependant on location globally. 97% of the org is now working from home. We're thinking about the long-term impact on org and on our customers.
Mindset: the challenge around morale - stresses in their personal lives. An appetite to use this as an opportunity for learning and growing.

A sentiment of 'we're all in it together'.

Priorities shifting within the organisations.

A question from Trudy: "Do you think that the concept of resilience has changed as a result of this pandemic?" #QuirkWebinar
Phil: "Never waste a good crisis." I come back to transactional leadership.

By keeping CALM:

Compassion for people
Action-Orientation (if you have time to decide,do)
Level-Headedness (awareness of self - diet, care, sleep)
Mindfulness (consequences of decisions) #QuirkWebinar
Chris: 1/3 -2/3 Rule for Leaders.

If the leader takes 1 day say to do analysis and create an initial plan, then the team takes 2 days to query it.
