Oil is gone. It's time to sit up and look critically at economic issues in Nigeria.
Stop the FAAC model. Let the states run themselves. The states can all run on IGR. This will lead to electing only competent folks, smaller & efficient govts.

Agriculture - oil palm, cocoa, ground nuts, cashew, rubber etc. Tourism - forest, monuments, new wonders, parks, hotels. Manufacturing, Services (too many), Education, Health Care are all sectors waiting for attention, development and capital.
Enough of the resource curse.
Entertainment is a huge sector with many profitable subsectors. A thriving Nigeria Premier Football League can guarantee 100-250k jobs directly and 500k indirectly.
Nigeria has no more money for political opportunists to exploit.

TIME TO RETHINK HOW WE LIVE.

What is it with these #LagosUnrest #OgunUnrest and #IbadanUnrest reports that we're hearing?

#Covid19, among other things, has come to expose the underbelly of the dysfunctional country/society we have run for years.
The time has come for us to #rethink how we do things as a society.

The time has come to consciously begin to question the basis/foundation of our existential realities.
First, it was #NigerDeltaUnrest. Then came the lingering #BokoHaram insurgency. The #2016Recession, occasioned by the dip in global oil prices, also came. Now, the #Covid_19 pandemic has come to expose the unsustainability of the model of our political-economy.

2/ It's less than 38 MONTHS to another election cycle and change of leadership baton in Nigeria. At the time of this THREAD (Monday, February 17, 2020), Nigerians, particularly, the youths, comprising a 51.1% of 84million Registered Voters, seem to be still sleeping.

2/ Via several threads, I've counseled the leaderships of Prez. @MBuhari; @DrAhmadLawan and @femigbaja to on or before 2023, work with State Governors, State Assemblies, religious, traditional leaders, academia, think tanks, leaders of thoughts, et al, to #RestructureNigeria.
3/ Ahead of 2023, I've continued to harp on this germane issue. Having critically periscoped into Nigeria's future, the nation is sitting on a keg of gun powder. WHY? Rarely will any Nigerian President, enjoy the kind of honey moon, 'BABA' @MBuhari currently enjoys today.

2/ I've copiously read several news stories where @PoliceNG PPRO, @frankmbablog, quoting IGP M. Adamu, says the much-awaited DECENTRALISATION of Nig's CENTRIFUGAL Policing System via #CommunityPolicing is set. But the recruited Special Constables won't be PAID SALARIES. REALLY?
3/ It's glaring, even to the blind, paid and unpaid sycophants of the @MBuhari-led administration that since 2015, Nigeria's broken internal security architecture has worsened. @MBuhari is SHOCKED and @NGRSenate & @HouseNGR are GLOATING, over the steep rise in MASS KIlLINGS.

2/ So, I've taken my time to copiously read a story published by @MobilePunch earlier today, quoting @iamekweremadu through his media aide, Uche Anichukwu.
3/ In the story, @iamekweremadu while promising he was going to reintroduce to the 9th @NGRSenate a bill for State @PoliceNG, among other things said:

- Funds for State Police Commands will be channelled directly to them through the National Police Service Commission.
