2/ Firstly, the well hidden truth of online trading platforms is that most of the active traders lose money. And most does not mean 51%, but this is more like 90-95%. Clients burn out quite quickly as well.

Ecco qui spiegato quello che è accaduto con #Gamestop. Il ‘popolo Reddit’ ha semplicemente scoperto che su alcuni titoli insiste un posizionamento short superiore al flottante. Nel caso di Gamestop erano in circolo 50 mln di azioni a fronte di un posizionamento short di 61 mln. 
È chiaro dunque che, nel momento in cui l’investitore che detiene una posizione short viene costretto a liquidare la posizione, trasforma lo ‘short squeeze’ in un’impennata del prezzo senza limiti in quanto la ricopertura dello short avviene in un mercato illiquido.
Pertanto, la canea di proteste di stampo liberal contro i ‘trogloditi’ di Reddit, colpevoli di manipolare il mercato, non ha alcun senso. Il problema semmai dovrebbe riguardare il mancato controllo delle authority che in teoria dovrebbero impedire la formazione di tali squilibri.
