Former Minister Stuart Robert is before the #Robodebt RC today, and I'll be tuning in and sharing key points with you.
Mr Robert says only 10% of people who were contacted by Centrelink regarding debt notices "engaged" with the Dept.
Mr Robert says that shortly after becoming Govt Services Minister in 2019 he raised concerns about debt raising through ATO data alone and asked for "further information"

After observing #RobodebtRC this month and the endless parade of convenient amnesiacs and dribbling liars who can't keep records, read emails, answer a memo, take notes, or remember who was in a room with them, Australians should be storming Parliament.

Lawyers who ignore the law, ministerial advisers who don’t advise, public servants who hate the public and an Australian government at war with its own people - what a contemptible display of incompetence and inhumanity in one spectacular package of deep, shitful shame.
The fact that some of these people are still employed anywhere, let alone some still in the public service and dear God, even promoted, is an insult to every Australian who underwrites their wages and their lifestyles.

What an orgy of neglect & unqualified idiocy.

#RobotDebtRC PwC’s Shane West refuses to refer to his assessment of Robodebt as “damning”, but when pressed, could not name a single aspect of the scheme that was
“working well”
He also wasn’t too keen on spelling out the millions they pocketed, till Greggery plucked it out.
West was forced to name a number of others in PwC at the time who were involved with this report, I suspect they might be interested parties for the RC for the next set of hearings, as well as Jason Macnamara who gave evidence previously but has been squarely named here again
It gave the Commissioner a lot to think about, as she unravels a hidden corporate agenda associated with this illegal, and deadly scheme.

Day 3 of the #RobodebtRC * is rolling. I'll be tweeting on and off as I work. Anne Pulford, principal lawyer for the Department of Social Services is appearing this morning regarding her review of legal advice that found it was not legal.

*corrected and reposted. Again.
I'm going stick to broader observations as others are across the blow-by-blow: evidence from Pullman highlights tension between Department of Social Services (DSS) and Department of Human Services (DHS). DSS thought Robodebt was bad news, DHS wanted to power ahead. #RobodebtRC
Pullman is asked about when she learned the proposal for Robodebt, which she believed to not be legally defensible, was to be included in the budget with support of the Minister despite the DSS opposition.

Scott Morrison was Social Services minister at the time.
