#RUGA: One of the Biggest Challenge of Discussing Solutions to the Nigeria National Question as it Relates to Agriculture Particularly with Animal Husbandry is That Those with No Idea or only Sentimental Ideal of How the Problem of Herdsmen Can Be Solved are The Most Vocal.

Some ppl are asking me why I say @GarShehu's statement of yesterday on #Nigeria's #RUGAmania was an artifice. All u need to do is take a copy of the National Livestock Transformation Plan, #NLTP & u'll not struggle to find out why. Here's an intro to what the Plan is about....
There are various categories of ppl involved in the #RUGAMania conversation. There're those who:
(a) won't do their home work
(b) can't do their home work
(c) cldn't be bothered abt home work
(d) are allergic to facts
(e) are genuinely curious.
Only the last deserve attention.
The #NLTP development process was long, careful & rigorous. It involved zonal level consultations, a national conference, a scientific report, a mapping process & selection of the 7 frontline states - Adamawa, Benue, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba, & Zamfara.

All the hullabaloo is about Muhammadu Buhari. They loathe and fear him so much particularly his anti corruption stand. The plan is to oppose whatever he does, good or bad. So they'd rather "dabaru" everything than let him succeed even if it means the lives & peace of Nigerians
A case in point is the Herdsmen/Farmers clash, an age long situation that has worsened due to climate change but now heavily politicised because sinister groups recognise that Buhari is Fulani and land matters are emotive.
Indigenes of states that have no plans for RUGA settlements are the ones ejaculating water and threatening fire and brimstone. It is clearly an orchestrated campaign to whip up primordial sentiments and is of course linked to the disbursement of huge sums of money

Distinguished the FG is not allocating lands, the FG is working with states to develop a livestock program to solve the myriads of problems associated with herders and farmers. Both are farmers - animal and crop farmers.
#RUGA Why are you giving it the ethnic coloration? Atiku during his campaign stressed the fact that he was going to establish ranches across Nigeria and you guys didn't raise any objection.
#RUGA This was Atiku's plan, he mentioned it repeatedly and on the debate with Kadaria he changed to cattle fodders. Some Nigerians have resisted all attempts by the govt to find a lasting solution to this crisis. You trend hashtags with no solutions

Well, the cow belong to Buhari& his elitist kinsmen. There is no more pasture in the Sahel. We do this peacefully or we shed the blood of the suffering masses.
What I would like to know is how they know which of these nomadic herdsmen is actually Nigerian🤔

It would be irresponsible & provocative for the federal government to presume to use its might in this manner. To IMPOSE this solution would not lead to an end to the conflict but an escalation. And it is NOT sustainable.
The need to equitably SHARE Nigeria's resources has never been more urgent or more self evident. And the immediate requirement is de-escalation, disarmament & dialogue.
