We allow dogs, as its perfect for local dog walking (esp to @ossettbrewery pubs locally 😜)

There's culture galore on the doorstep with @HepworthGallery @YSPsculpture & @ThePieceHall nearby.

There's @VisitYork @VisitLeeds & @VisitHarrogate all within a short drive too.
It's also perfectly sited to @visithudds and of course to @VisitWakefield (or @Visit_Wakefield if you prefer an alternative view of our Merrie City 😂😂😂🫣🫣😜)
Theres #RugbyLeague on tap, museums, concerts, and of course there's pies, chippies and curries in abundance locally.

Well, here we go. Let’s see what the editor of the sole remaining #rugbyleague newspaper has to say on a topic that he clearly does not wish to speak on, but now feels he has no choice but to address.

“Not have a strong public profile” actually = disappear from public view for 3+ months. Why so coy?

But thanks for admitting that you agree it’s a problem, but only communicate that privately to Ralph himself, & don’t bother telling your readers in your weekly newspaper.

Massive straw man. No one is saying Ralph caused all problems. But he is ultimately responsible for some huge ones

- Leadership vacuum
- Academy farce
- Wembley attendances
- GB Lions tour inc Regan Grace snub
- Odsal/Bulls ongoing fiasco...

Tragedies in modern era #RugbyLeague:
1. The splitting of @SuperLeague clubs from the @TheRFL (which - unbelievably - was supported by the RFL).
2. The abolition of @TOwolfpack (by the short- term self-interested @SuperLeague clubs).
3. Replacing the calm, sensible . . .
Richard Lewis (whom managed to unify the RFL with the amateur game) with Nigel Wood (who supported the splitting of the game with the aforementioned @SuperLeague split).
4. The appointment of Rob Elstone as CEO of the @SuperLeague. Aside from axing @TOwolfpack, his other . .
. . big decision was moving the Magic Weekend from the highly popular Newcastle to Liverpool (only for it to be moved back a year later). Fortunately his plan to sell future TV and sponsorship revenues (the private equity deal) was scuppered
5. Paying a salary of in excess of . .

[THREAD] 1/ Seeing as a @brianmoore666 retweet has brought me a host of rugby fan followers, I thought as a treat I'd introduce you to the greatest ever rugby-based #ukemplaw case - Mason v Huddersfield Giants. Here's the link: bailii.org/cgi-bin/format…) #Rugby #rugbyleague
2/ As many of you will know, Keith Mason is a Welsh international who played for many of the great rugby league teams post-Millennium and is now plying his trade as an actor, boosted by his friendship with Mickey Rourke: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Mas… bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-le…
3/ At the end of each rugby league season, many of the clubs hold an event (or at least did back in 2012) called Mad Monday, which the Judge in this case described in language I've never before seen in a judgment:

So we have done some digging re the TV and broadcast deal.

In L1 and Championship there was a limited broadcast deal which allowed the TWP to pay for production and air games on both streaming services (cbc sports) and TV (Game TV)

However Super League is different.
Sky Sports owns broadcast rights to Super League until 2021. They must broadcast a minimum 70 games. BBC has rights for weekly highlights

Toronto and Catalans can have their home games broadcast as long as they have a domestic broadcaster willing to make a TV deal.
In Canada specifically Sportsnet World has the Super League contract to rebroadcast Sky Sports games but Toronto can find another broadcaster (current rumours are TSN) for home matches.

So what does this mean for Canadian fans?
