Taylor Swift was almost among the 11 celebrities now wrapped up in a costly class action lawsuit against Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX—but asking a simple question saved her.

Adam Moskowitz, one of the lawyers leading the class action lawsuit against FTX’s celebrity ambassadors, told The Scoop podcast that Swift was “the one person” that asked whether the securities she would be promoting are unregistered.

Moskowitz said that under state securities laws, promoting unregistered securities for financial gain makes an individual liable. The now-bankrupt FTX was in talks with Swift for a $100 million sponsorship deal, which fizzled out shortly before FTX’s collapse in Nov of last year.

Back in 2017 Long Island Ice Tea - known for its undistinguished, barely drinkable sugar-water - changed its name to "Long Blockchain Corp." Its shares surged to a peak of 400% over their pre-announcement price. 1/

The company announced no specific integrations with any kind of blockchain, nor has it made any such integrations since. 3/

FTX's collapse left a million creditors holding the bag for a chaotically managed, corrupt enterprise that created vast personal fortunes for the conspirators who ran it, even as it stole the life's savings of retail investors who bought into its lies. 1/

Could the unsuspecting public have been shielded from the FTX Ponzi scheme? Hindsight is 20/20, but there's good reason to believe that FTX could have been brought down in a controlled glide, rather than a nose-first crash landing and ensuing fireball. 3/
