1/ Imagine if #SanDiego had constructed treatment ponds in the #Tijuana River estuary near #ImperialBeach instead of insisting on a "traditional" wastewater plant that has never been able to do its job?
Here is an article on that proposal from 1994: sdearthtimes.com/et0694/et0694s…
2/ Here is an example of a facility in Arcata that has created a wildlife sanctuary around similar treatment ponds, that are popular with birders, cyclists & runners. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcata_Wa…
3/ The #Tijuana River estuary is protected under the #RamsarConvention- an international agreement to protect critical habitats & the birds, fish etc. that rely on them to survive. Integrated ponds could provide clean water for the estuary & river. archive.ramsar.org/cda/en/ramsar-…

I just voted & was told, along with everyone else at the polling site that we're reg. to vote by mail but none of us are! Even our voter cards say we're not. We had to fill out paperwork & were told our votes won't be counted for 2 weeks.
#VoterSuppression @KUSINews @carldemaio
There was also a number of polling site violations taking place. Such as taking pictures & the line standing behind booths so our ballots can be seen by everyone. People were sitting all over the floors voting too. 🤦🏼‍♀️
#BeAVoter #ElectionDay2018
On a side note, I'm on crutches and unable to put any weight on my foot. The only ♿ booth was being used by non ♿ while I stood for 15 min on one leg waiting for a woman to finish voting. #ElectionDay #vote

I’ve tweeted about our @GlobalIrish communities in #SanDiego, #Seattle, #BayArea & tweeted throughout the visit to #LosAngeles but there are so many other fantastic organizations & communities in Western US celebrating their Irish heritage & links to Ireland. Here are a few ...
Did you know that #Portland is home to a beautiful cross commemorating the famine? Portland is also home to the wonderful @CorribTheatre, led by the fantastic Gemma Whelan, delivering high quality productions of contemporary Irish productions such as Charlie O'Neill's HURL.
I recently visited Salt Lake City & was delighted to meet the Hibernian Society there. Next year #Utah will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the #GoldenSpike - the completion of the transcontinental railroad - in which the Irish community in the US played such a prominent role.

Next we go down to the very south of the geographic area that we cover to #SanDiego where one of our partner organizations, @IrishOutreachSD, celebrated its 20th birthday last week! That’s me, Bernadette Cashman (founder), Amb @DanMulhall & Exec Dir Stephen Aherne!
#SanDiego has a vibrant & diverse Irish community including four @GAA_USA clubs who joined with us last year to send off the players of @USAWomenEagles before they went to Ireland for the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup! San Diego also hosts the annual West Coast Sevens competition.
#SanDiego is also home to one of the largest St Patrick’s Day parades west of the Rockys with over 30k people lining the streets. The parade is organised by the Irish Congress of #SoCal with support from the Friendly Sons, the House of Ireland & all the Irish organisations in SD

My Mother’s Last #Feminist Battle facebook.com/GregPalastInve…
The #SanDiego papers reported that mom joined the Coast Guard "Reserve." In fact, she was full-time uniformed military. ALL women who enlisted at the start of WWII were classified as "auxiliary reservists"—even those sent overseas, a slight later corrected by an Act of Congress.
Because my mom was only "reserve," the military was going to deny her a color guard and bury her only as a 'military spouse." My mother would have been furious — so I raised hell. sandiegouniontribune.com/obituaries/sd-…

Hello @ICEgov @CBPSanDiego @CBP there are 1500+ families, marching towards the border hopefully you are aware they plan on taking over, they think in large numbers they can’t be refused #BuildTheWall
The event is very well planned and funded sounds a bit like #sorosarmy though they have harmlessly named it a caravan #SanctuaryState #Takebackcalifornia
Call it whatever you want this is an invasion and they are headed right towards good old #SanctuaryState of California who is funding them? Do @AGBecerra @MayorOfLA @JerryBrownGov intend on letting all of them enter while our homeless crisis grows? @latimes
