When one thinks of #SardarVallabhbhaiPatel , there is just so much to the man, that it is well impossible to explore his life in a thread. But if I had to choose one part of his life, it would be the way he integrated, 500 odd princely states, into one nation.
Imagine having to deal with multiple mini states, each having their own set of issues, and welding them into one single nation. Add to it, a newly independent India, dealing with the trauma of Partition, the Pakistan attack on Kashmir, and u had Hyderabad.

The story begins when Vallabhbhai Patel heard about a leader, Mahatma Gandhi his reaction to this was “We already have too many mahatmas” & when he heard that the Mahatma believed that India can gain Independence from Satyagraha and Ahimsa, Patel laughed and made others laugh.
Even more with his ridicule of the “crank” and sarcasm about Gandhi's “brilliant ideas.”

Weeks before his death on Dec 15, 1950, Sardar Patel wrote two critical letters warning Pandit Nehru and G. S. Bajpai about the dangers that India faced. He mentioned everything from Communists smuggling arms in the north-east to the influence of missionaries on the Naga tribes
to India's unbalanced equation with China. He pointed out that 'there was a lack of firmness and unnecessary apology' in the attitude of the Indian ambassador to China. In fact, he pointed out that often the Indian ambassador to China sounded like the Chinese ambassador to India!
Patel warned Nehru that the prime minister's strategy of championing the cause of China's entry into the United Nations was flawed and 'the Chinese do not regard (us) as their friends'. Patel also warned that Nehru's idea that the Himalayas were a natural barrier between India
