Today at 10:00 Justice Minister Michael Masutha is holding a briefing on #Bosasa and @DOJCD_ZA contracts with the company now known as African Global Operations and its subsidiaries. Two former Correctional Services seniors, Linda Mti and Patrick Gillingham, have been charged.
On Friday, a statement on behalf of the #StateCaptureInquiry @StateCaptureCom Chairperson Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo announced contracts for GTS (formerly Sondolo IT) to provide security to the commission were not awarded correctly.
Zondo indicated GTS work at the #StateCaptureInquiry was investigated after a journalist raised the alarm on the company’s links to #Bosasa. That journalist is @CowansView of @News24 (his story also appeared in @City_Press).

#StateCaptureInquiry @StateCaptureCom Proceedings were set to commence at 10:00 today. #VytjieMentor is seated and has been working through some papers. She is set to undergo cross examination today. The Chairperson has just entered.

@StateCaptureCom #StateCaptureInquiry "It's not clear to me why we would need anybody else to come and testify than someone from SAA itself," says Zondo in reply to Mentor. She then questions the Home Affairs records, too.

#StateCaptureInquiry Today is a watershed moment for the @StateCaptureCom with #VytjieMentor set to undergo cross examination after she completes her evidence.
#StateCaptureInquiry Mentor is the first witness to undergo cross examination and it’s expected she will be subject to grilling from counsel for Duduzane Zuma. She also implicated Former President Jacob Zuma, when she described a ministerial job offer allegedly from a Gupta.

#StateCaptureInquiry Muofhe says it was public knowledge at the time other Cabinet Ministers had been to Saxonwold. "Even as the letter came I understood it in that context. Because it came soon after the appointment of former Minister Ramatlhodi," says Muofhe.
#StateCaptureInquiry Muofhe said he told the caller he personally had no interest in attending the dinner but he would convey the message to Ramatlhodi which he duly did. "The Minister without even winking said, 'Decline the invite. I am not interested. Decline the directive.'"
#StateCaptureInquiry Muofhe says of the receipt of the letter and the subsequent phone call, "It was on the same day." He adds, "I was the gateway to the minister." Moufhe says the letter was delivered to his office and even before he could reply "there was a certain phone call."

#StateCaptureInquiry Remember when @TreasuryRSA Minister of Treasury Nhlanhla Nene answered eNCA’s @samkelemaseko asking if he would testify? Nene said, “Watch this space.” And later, after some pressing from Maseko, “Watch the space, meaning a lot of us might be appearing soon.”
#StateCaptureInquiry Nene will be the first sitting minister to testify at the inquiry. Previously Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan attended hearings, when his former right hand man Mcebisi Jonas testified, saying a Gupta brother offered him the Finance Minister job.
#StateCaptureInquiry Nene will testify on events around then President Jacob Zuma firing him at night on 9 December 2015. Zuma said at the time, “I wish Mr Van Rooyen all the best in this new appointment. The new deployment of Mr Nene will be announced in due course.”
