During archaeological excavations in the run-up to the widening of the A143 motorway, a very special finding was uncovered in the winter months of last year - a skull deposit of the Salzmünder culture (ca. 3400-3100 BC). #Archaeology #SaxonyAnhalt 
Already during the work on the area the circular finding with approx. 1m diameter and four human skulls became apparent. A block salvage and transport to the central depot of the LDA took place in order to excavate under laboratory conditions and independent of weather conditions
During the subsequent excavation another human skull as well as isolated human bones, few remains of cattle and small ruminants were discovered.
