(1/7) Our children are not for sale! I am pushing for California Senate Bill 357 (loitering with intent to sell sex) to be repealed by CA Governor @GavinNewsom , Senate President Pro Tem @SenToniAtkins , and Assembly Speaker @RendonAD62 as quickly as possible. 
(2/7) Although this law now essentially making loitering with intent to sell sex legal was well intentioned seeking to protect victims it will most likely be a civil rights assault on the most vulnerable victims of human trafficking which are children.
(3/7) 60% of trafficking victims are foster youth & they are among the most vulnerable when it comes to perpetrators. A recent operation conducted by local, state & federal officials in #sandiego led to 48 arrests & uncovered 8 children and youth victims including a 13 year old.
As of midnight this morning, “loitering with intent to commit prostitution” is no longer a crime in California!
People who have previously been arrested and convicted of loitering for prostitution can now clear their records.

It's essentially property protection law. It allows police to arrest you for looking a certain way or in a certain place. It's a way for them to arrest you even if you haven't actually seen you breaking the law. A "walking while trans" law. eqca.org/sb357-senate-p…
NCOSE's rational? It's good to arrest people of color and trans people for being outside because white men are trying to exploit them!
