Once amyloid starts to affect brain cells, it is thought to trigger a cascade of events, much like starting a row of falling dominoes. The brain’s immune cells become overactive and start to cause more harm than good. Blood flow can also be affected.

The pain inflicted by the pandemic has devastating effects on sustainable development, the concept that reflects the complexity of our world by combining and juxtaposing the socio, economic and environmental aspects of human activity #SDGs
The direct effects of #COVID19 on sustainable development come from the adverse health outcomes of the virus, and the extent to which its rate of mortality and morbidity impacts on the size and health of the labour force and its productivity (#SDG3) @WHO @ilo @UNDP @UN_Women
This in turn affects, for example, the fight against poverty (#SDG1), the number of people at risk of famine (#SDG2), education outcomes (#SDG4), economic growth and employment (#SDG8), and more. @UNDP @SUN_Movement @WHO @FAO @UNICEF @ITU @UNOCHA
