सध्या देशभरात CAA-NRC विरोधी आंदोलने सुरू आहेत. अश्या आंदोलनाच्या ठिकाणी प्रशासनाकडून प्रतिबंधात्मक कारवाई म्हणून CrP सेक्शन144 लावला जातो. या अंतर्गत आंदोलनासाठी परवानगी नाकारली जाते व प्रदर्शन करण्यावर बंदी घातली जाते.

CrP144 अंतर्गत आंदोलनाला परवानगी नाकारण्यच्या एका प्रकरणात मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाच्या औ.बाद खंडपीठाने एक उत्तम असा निर्णय नुकताच दिला आहे. जस्टीस नलावडे आणि जस्टीस सेवलीकर हे न्यायमूर्ती यावेळी खंडपीठावर होते.
माजलगाव,बीड येथे CAA विरोधात शांततापूर्ण आंदोलन करण्यासाठी परवानगी मागण्यात आली होती. परंतु सेक्शन144 लागू असल्याचे कारण देत पोलीस प्रशासनाने परवानगी नाकारली. याविरोधात उच्च न्यायालयात याचिका दाखल करण्यात आली होती. त्यावर निर्णय देताना कोर्टाने काही महत्वपूर्ण बाबी नोंदवल्या आहेत
