I’m presently working my way through the Seder Olam--a 2nd cent. AD (or so I’m told) Rabbinic text which deals with the chronology of Scripture.
I highly recommend it.

my dad died earlier this year. i'm thinking of starting a thread of things i think he would have liked and that i want to share with him. here's one. i'll add to this as i see things.

Todas las arduas preparaciones, el estudio, las compras, la limpieza, todo, tienen un objetivo: la realización del seder de pesaj (en la diáspora se hacen 2 pero en Israel sólo uno -imaginen lo dificil que es contentar a padres y suegros :-) ).
Tres son los pilares del seder:
1- Transmisión. Gran parte de las costumbres se centran en los niños. Sin jóvenes no hay continuidad, no hay futuro. Por más de tres milenios se levanta la llama del judaísmo para iluminar al mundo. Los jóvenes son el camino a la eternidad.
