⚠️ There's some big changes to @Se_Railway services through #Chislehurst tonight and tomorrow morning, affecting trains to #Sevenoaks, #Tonbridge and further afield. The reason is emergency engineering work related to this pink rail - read on... /1
The rail is dyed pink so the crack you can see on the left can be seen more clearly - and it's the crack that's causing the disruption. It's part of a crossing, that allows trains to cross from one track to another, and the crack means trains can only pass over it at 5mph. /2
This shows the crack seen through a handheld scanner and you can see from the scale of it that we can't leave this in place for long and still run a normal service, so tonight our team from Orpington Delivery Unit is coming in to cut the section out and replace it. /3

Tonight is decision time for #Sevenoaks Town Council and @StagSevenoaks. A proposal is on the table for the Town Council to make a £220,000 grant to The Stag in its meeting tonight. Agenda, link and extensive papers here. sevenoakstown.gov.uk/_UserFiles/Fil…
I am a huge supporter of The Stag (including being a Friend) but I am not convinced this proposal is a good one. Why? Read on. 👇👇👇
1. The Stag has launched its own appeal for £250,000 in donations / crowd-funding and if the Town Council just hands it most of that amount, surely attempts to raise money will wither on the vine. Much better for the council to match funding with The Stag’s own fundraising.

2/ ....buildings. We have recorded the building from the top down. @MOLArchaeology have identified 20+ phases of roof construction from medieval to modern (image by John Miller)
3/ Inside we have lifted flooboards & removed panelling revealing hidden elements of the #medieval palace including doors, windows & evidence for fires
