A lot of people are really disappointed that important events in their lives have been cancelled. Knowing it’s necessary doesn’t make it hurt less. So be sensitive to your friends & families—especially your kids—& take care of their emotional health, too.
My son is a robotics student. His team’s first competition was cancelled 2 days beforehand, after all that hard work building a bot. Some of the teams were already in the pits preparing for their first match & had to pack it up & go home. The entire season has now been cancelled.
My daughter sings w/ a symphony chorus. The symphony cancelled all its events including her spring chorus performance & upcoming rehearsals. People are heartbroken & stuck at home w/ time to think about their losses AND the pandemic. Be gentle w/each other, friends. Be kind.
