What Drove his Change? 2 Factors
(1) Rising LIABILITIES of households which increased to 5% of GDP in H1 FY23
(2) Sharp Fall in TOTAL SAVINGS. Past 5 odd years, TOTAL SAVING of households was ~20% of GDP. However, in H1 FY23, TOTAL SAVING of households has fallen to 15.7% of GDP

Lets start with the Article from #APRIL2022... The rate of oil has suddenly increased by Rs 800-Rs 900 and the price of gas has also increased. Earlier, we used to pay Rs 1,600 for gas and now it stands at Rs 2,300. Green chilly too has become expensive.
Earlier we used to sell each vada pav for Rs 20 but we have now increased it to Rs 22. Similarly, we are selling samosa pav for Rs 23 as opposed to earlier Rs 20, and bhaji pav for Rs 22, up from Rs 20

* For many.- #inflation is the increased prices paid for goods & services.
** To others.- it's a decline in the purchasing power of your #money.
*** In layman's terms.- Too much money chasing too few goods.

I did a quick compilation of prices of some common food prices before border closure and current prices and the average inflation is in 200% zone.

Maybe all Nigerians that can no longer feed themselves will move over to Aṣọ Rock to join in the @MBuhari at the dining table after all they have budgeted BILLIONS to feed themselves while some family annual income is N600k at N50k monthly.
At this rate of food inflation on food items for people at the bottom of the social pyramid. It is important to have immediate food intervention before we have hunger triggered anarchy.
