So what's wrong with the #SJSharks? Let's start with the obvious areas: Goaltending, depth, coaching.

Martin Jones has already given up 4 more goals expected, which is basically an extra goal against every other game. Dell is about the same rate. That hurts when you can't score
Of course, the Sharks goaltending was miserable last year and they were able to be successful, so lots of people are discounting this, but it's a huge impact to have bad goaltending.

This falls on Doug, not bringing in competition for Dell or Jones.
There was a number of viable options on the trade and free agent market:

Robin Lehner signed a 1 year deal who would have been an option to push Jones.
James Reimer was traded for a salary dump in Florida, which could have been Dell going back the other way.

Con un año normal de lesiones y contando con un goalie del calibre de Gibson, los Ducks deberían volver a ser mucho mejor equipo. Dar minutos y roles importantes a jóvenes como Comtois, Terry y Steel, sería una excelente noticia para su futuro.
