Read our latest analysis from the #ADVOR trial @JACCJournals. Deeper dive into the relationship of #natriuresis with decongestion & clinical outcomes after diuretic therapy in acute #heartfailure! Tweetorial below...

@PieterMartensMD @WilfriedMullens
First, look at detailed #ADVOR protocol below:
onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

We did 2 consecutive urine collections:
1. Randomization => First morning (<24 h)
2. First morning => Second morning (=24 h)

If in those 2 collections, cumulative urine output <3.5 L ➡️ Failed decongestion! Image
Allocation to #acetazolamide clearly increased:
✅total urine output (+12.6%)
✅total natriuresis (+26.9%)

In relative terms: effect on natriuresis > urine output, UO🚫significant after 1st diuretic dose, natriuresis remained high!

*Normalized UO to 24 h for collection 1. Image

1️⃣1️⃣ #Sodium : Na

Image

Some people can drink more water due to #psychiatric illnesses.

$GWSO 🔥 Dr. Elena Shembel has been working with startup MaxAh to enhance #Lithium-ion batteries with novel graphene that THEY source and synthesize. DYK #Graphene also happens to be the most promising electrode material for superior performance in #Sodium-ion batteries. 😁
👀 Presented at ABAF, partnered with Delfast and published with ECS… Dr. Shembel is drawing attention from the industry’s scientific community as she has in the past. I see a preview of catalysts to come for $GWSO drive.google.com/file/d/1dxlpw_…
The PR timeline is interesting here as well… all sorts of validation 😏 ain.capital/2021/11/24/max…

The story of how @Altris_ab came to be and my involvement in PBA research is also a nice one. It was really a combination of the right people meeting at the right time and at the right place.
It began with Ronnie Mogensen, who was working on polymer electrolytes at the time and just needed a reliable positive electrode that was easy to make. He tried NaFePO4 which didn't always function. Then he turned to NaxFe[Fe(CN)6]. This always worked to a reasonable degree
He then stumbled upon a paper where the group of John Goodenough (Nobel laureate in chemistry for Li-ion #batteries) made rhombohedral Prussian white. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Over 10 years ago, @ChemistryWorld started a project with the @NakedScientists (especially @Meera_Senthi) to tell the story of each chemical #element: The Chemistry in its Element #podcast. Let's look back for #IYPT2019. Here's @brianclegg with #hydrogen:

@ChemistryWorld @NakedScientists @Meera_Senthi @brianclegg The podcasts weren't published in atomic number order – we jumped around the #periodictable a bit – but here's @peterwothers getting grumpy about party balloons and the loss of the precious elemental resource: #Helium

#Lithium lubricates bearings & boosts batteries, but is also an important drug for depression and bipolar disorder. Nirvana sang about it in 1990 and, hot on their heels, Matt Wilkinson wrote a #podcast for @ChemistryWorld in 2009: chemistryworld.com/podcasts/lithi… #IYPT2019 #Mendeleev
