1/ The Russians are by no means a people like the Germans and the English. Like the Germanic tribes of the Carolingian age they contain within themselves the potentialities of many future peoples. “Russianism” is the promise of a future culture as the evening shadows grow longer
2/ and longer over the Western world. The distinctions between Russian and Western spirit cannot be drawn too sharply. As deep a cleavage as there is between the spirit, religion, politics, and economics of England, Germany, America, and France,
3/ when compared with Russia these nations suddenly appear as a unified world. It is easy to be deceived by some inhabitants of Russia who reflect strong Western influence. The true Russian is just as inwardly alien to us as a Roman in the Age of Kings

Ideas that have become blood demand blood. War is the eternal pattern of higher human existence, and countries exist for war’s sake; they are signs of readiness for war. And even if a tired and blood-drained humanity desired to do away with war,
like the citizens of the Classical world during its final centuries, like the Indians and Chinese of today, it would merely exchange its role of war-wager for that of the object about and with which others would wage war. Even if a Faustian universal harmony could be attained,
masterful types on the order of late Roman, late Chinese, or late Egyptian Caesars would battle each other for this Empire–for the possession of it, if its final form were capitalistic; or for the highest rank in it, if it should become socialistic. #Spengler

@J_Todenhoefer spent time with IS during the worst of the terrorist wars. He's not one to be taken lightly. In his book "Inside IS" he says one should never underestimate the level of incompetence in high political circles. 1/
This is in line with @jordanbpeterson in one of his latest interviews indicating just how many things would have to be true at the same time for the #trump election fraud allegations to be realistically possible to be true. These systems are complex 2/
If both statements are true and they might, this pretty much excludes a global conspiracy to turn out world into a Huxlean/Orwellian distopia. What, then, is happening? A chain of unfortunate events? 3/

I see more sharply than others because I think independently of parties, directions and interests. I foresaw things as they developed organically and fatefully.
I see even more ahead, but I feel lonelier than ever, as among people who have been blindfolded so as not to see the collapse of the house while using their hammers.
But I repeat again and again that I have only described facts, for people who can think and act in a state-minded way, and not for romantics. #Spengler

Man is a beast of prey. Acute thinkers, like Montaigne and Nietzsche, have always known this. The life wisdom in the old fairy-tales and proverbs of all peasant and nomad folk; the smiling penetration characteristic of the great connoisseur of men, whether statesman or general,
merchant or judge, at the apex of a rich life; the despair of the world-improver who has failed; the invective of the angered priest—none of these even come close to wanting to deny or conceal this fact. Only the grave solemnity of idealist philosophers and other theologians
has lacked the courage to be open about what their hearts knew perfectly well: ideals are cowardice. #Spengler

1/ Here, in man & in woman, the two kinds of History are fighting for power. Woman is strong & wholly what she is, & she experiences the Man and the Sons only in relation to herself & her ordained role. In the masculine being, on the contrary, there is a certain contradiction;
2/ he is this man, and he is something else besides, which woman neither understands nor admits, which she feels as robbery and violence upon that which to her is holiest. This secret and fundamental war of the sexes has gone on ever since there were sexes, and will continue
3/ —silent, bitter, unforgiving, pitiless—while they continue. In it, too, there are policies, battles, alliances, treaties, treasons. Race feeling of love and hate, which originate in depths of world yearning and primary instincts of directedness, prevail between the sexes
