#StateCaptureInquiry Today, for the first time since inception the @StateCaptureCom sits on a Saturday. The focus remains on aviation. Yesterday's hearing revealed details of the contract between SA Express, the North West transport department and little-known company Koroneka.
#StateCaptureInquiry Two witnesses testified yesterday. First, Kutlwano Phatudi spoke. She is the CFO of the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Development who initially refused an initial payment to Koroneka as it was not allowed per the then contract.
#StateCaptureInquiry Second, Babadi Tlatsana who was the initial, sole director of Koroneka began her evidence. Tlatsana replied to several questions yesterday on why she did not interrogate financial flows or asks more questions about what was happening at her company.

#StateCaptureInquiry Mahomedy has listed the price-per-locomotive in three CSR contracts. They are:
• R28.2-million each in the 95 locomotives contract
• R44-million each in the 100 locomotives contract
• R50-million each for 359 of the locomotives in the 1,064 contract
#StateCaptureInquiry Mahomedy has testified that over a two-year period the price for *similar* locomotives from CSR, with some modifications between the locomotives in each of the three contracts, rose from ±R28-million per locomotive to R50-million per locomotive.

#StateCaptureInquiry Proceedings resume. Counsel for two persons implicated in Booysen's testimony have introduced themselves. They represent Major General Nomfazi Ngembe and Major General Ntebo 'Jan' Mabula respectively.
#StateCaptureInquiry Booysen now describes a meeting in May 2010 in Ngobeni's office. She and Booysen were there, as were two Major Generals, Brigaider Lawrence Kemp from financial services, and a Colonel from SCM at the police, who was one of the suspects.

General Nyanda, former chief of the SANDF and chief of staff of Umkhonto we Sizwe takes the affirmation. He is also former minister of communications. #StateCaptureInquiry
Nyanda’s statement is apparently only four paragraphs.
Nyanda says he was appointed in 1994 into the SANDF. It comprised the various armed forces. In 1996 he became commander of the SANDF. He then retired in 2005. He became a minister in 2009 and was dropped a year later.

Today at 10:00 Justice Minister Michael Masutha is holding a briefing on #Bosasa and @DOJCD_ZA contracts with the company now known as African Global Operations and its subsidiaries. Two former Correctional Services seniors, Linda Mti and Patrick Gillingham, have been charged.
On Friday, a statement on behalf of the #StateCaptureInquiry @StateCaptureCom Chairperson Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo announced contracts for GTS (formerly Sondolo IT) to provide security to the commission were not awarded correctly.
Zondo indicated GTS work at the #StateCaptureInquiry was investigated after a journalist raised the alarm on the company’s links to #Bosasa. That journalist is @CowansView of @News24 (his story also appeared in @City_Press).

#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo says that last week Tuesday he expressed certain concerns with regard to the breach of certain regulations by members of the press governing the proceedings.

Agrizzi says his house is ONLY valued at R10million. Mti’s house is valued at R18million.

Agrizzi says when Mti left the house, he only took his furniture. This was because of the SIU investigation.
In mid 2007, Vernie Peterson was appointed DG at correctional services. Agrizzi tried to contact him but he would have nothing to do with Bosasa.

#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo also asks the media to give the commission sufficient time to respond to requests for interviews. He says it has happened on two occasions where the commission was given a few hours to respond and then publish articles.
#StateCaptureInquiry Zondo: We regard the work of this commission as very important. We regard it is a national task. Some of the members of our team have been subjected to all sorts of insults in the media by some people. I think its important that they be given support.
